Personally I think Patrick just has an IQ below 75.

Norbert is awsome!!! I used to love that show, but then it got cancelled or something. I ws very upset.
I think gretchen from recess may also be an aspie. Because she is always fascinated with science, and is very intelligent and has a lot of aspie traits. Some people also say I look like her.  And I think elisa from the wild thornberries is also an aspie but I think that might be already listed I'm not sure. And maybe Chuckie from the rugrats.
I think Norman from Drabble has AS.

He's portrayed as the dumbest of the lot, but I expect an NT draws it.
The other characterizations, such as complete social ineptitude and literalism seem to fit perfectly.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Dilbert yet.

Tell me he isn't AS.

Rabbit, in Winnie the Pooh, and Owl, are obvious candidates.

From what I recall of King of the Hill (wow, is it really more than four years since I last watched television?), the guy who talks really fast may have AS.

I think that Ozy, Millie, and/or Llewellen could be AS in Ozy and Millie.  The author may as well.

I think that a fair number of webcartoonists may have AS, based on what and how they write in their posty thingies.

While Alice seems as if she may be more towards ADHD, Dot seems quite possibly AS.   Alice is imaginative, Dot is demonstrated to be as well, just not impulsive, and tends to react to her friend's impulsivity with extreme conservatism.

Susan from El Goonish Shive seems like a great candidate, her warring logic(restraint) and curiousity are something I can sympathize, particulalrly when it comes to subjects I'm uncomfortable dealing with, such as sex.  She needs some way to justify new experiences, has an obessessive interest (in Star Trek), and elitist attitude, and seems somewhat socially incompetant.

In these next three cases I think I'm projecting: looking for a character who has AS where there may not be one, in comics I like.

Sam, in Sam and Fuzzy is socially inept, parnoid, and clumsy, though that may be a result of living with a psychotic teddy bear.  He doesn't seem, exceptional otherwise.

Ship, in Count Your Sheep adheres rigidly to the rules, adheres rigidly to his own set of rules.  There's not much else to him, but I've met a few AS like this.

Gwen/Tennibrook and Baxter of Catharsis have AS traits.
OF course it could be an Ego-Supergo-Id(with Rremly) arrangement, but Gwen is socially inept, stubborn, creative, and tends to randomly become a child.  Baxter is much like Ship, whereas Rremly acts more like ADHD.

Though it's new to me, I only just got through the archive, both the original main characters (Rae and Sartus) in Those Destined seem to be AS in many ways.  Particularly when contrasted with those they meet.  Indeed, Rae reminds me so much of an AS female friend of mine that it's practically uncanny.  I've decided to keep reading it, in large part, because of that resemblance.
The humor in Those Destined seems to be Aspie humor, part from the content, part from the positioning (the character bios are mildly funny) so this is another case where I wonder about the author.

The author of Filibuster Cartoons is clearly brighter than average, obessive, and eccentric.  It didn't occur to met that he might have AS until I emailed him.  His response showed some traits of someone with AS responding to an email they don't really know how to respond to.  (I gave an in-depth description of why I liked his site, and rather than simply saying "thanks," he responded to several of my comments.  I can't really say how the response felt like AS to me though, and I won't repost a private email for obvious reasons.  His response just felt Aspie though.).

The author of Dementia of Magic also seems to have AS.  His characters show the traits of somebody with AS trying to determine how NTs behave.

I've digressed a bit talking about comic authors, so I'll stop now.

HOMESTARRUNNER OMG I LOVE THAT SITE!!! I used to visit it religiously

What about that loudmouth robot on Futurama? My husband loves that character, not sure what his name is.

Far from it.
Stereotypical frat boy.
Simply an obnoxious jerk, there as a foil.

If your going to go for simpsons characters, go for Martin Prince, Comic Book guy and proffesor Frink. Glaven.

Hehe.
I can still re-watch episodes in my head, to an extent.

The Simpsons, Futurama, and NOVA are probably the only TV shows that I somewhat miss (though of course not enough to get off my high horse and turn on the aptly named idiot box again).

Martin and the professor I can see.

Comic Book Guy is just a complete A--hole.

not so much gadet as his neice penny gadget is more of an inspector cleasou type
Max Elrich of IGPX. Very reserved, but a child prodigy hacker.
1. Charlie from "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". He's extremely intelligent, but childlike, naive, and completely ignorant of most social protocol.

2. The eponymous character of "Stargirl" might be slightly Asperger's, or just an extremely quirky, sheltered neurotypical.

3. This is kind of obscure, but Tick-Tick and Camphire from "Finder". They both have obsessive interests (mechanics and drawing, respectively), both have highly ideosyncratic ways of speaking, and Tick-Tick seems to have sensory issues.

4. Luna Lovegood, Hermione Granger, Rubeus Hagrid, and Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter books.

5. Dwayne and Olive from the movie Little Miss Sunshine .

6. Belle and her father from Beauty & the Beast (the Disney version).

7. Virtually every major character in Napoleon Dynamite seems at least a mite ASish.

8. Almost any stereotypical Mad Scientist/Inventor or Absentminded Professor-type character in any medium ever.

9. Charles Wallace Murry of Madeleine L'Engle's "Time Quartet".

...aaand that is all I can think of right now. Only one actual cartoon character on that list, I think.

hotaru and ami/amy(sailor moon season s): socally inept- wants friends but cant make them or keep them

Definitely Ami; Hotaru was possessed by Mistress 9, though, and in the manga I think much of her body and brain were mechanical prior to her rebirth. She seemed much less aspie after S, when she'd had the chance to have a happier childhood and was no longer possessed or a cyborg.

</Sailor Moon dork>

I think Zim from invader zim could be aspie in a irken sort of way, or at least ADHD and NPD. Like a hybrid of the three or latter 2.

-extremly hyper
-easily distracted
-hard for him to stay focused on "the mission"
-doesnt understand the other irkens dont like him
-definatly NPD
-has various obsessions throughout the series
-appears to have sensory issues

And also GIR from invader zim seems Kanner's like to me
or at least this one scene
-he wanted to watch this video over and over again, but zim took it to return it to thevideo store, so GIR has this tantrum just like the rage cycle. (whining, screaming, then sleeping)

Nah. Bender's social problems probably stem from being an alcoholic.

...and a sociopath. That'll do it. Rolleyes

Well, I am going to buck things and throw in Soundwave from Transformers.  Compare him to the other characters and he was quite different.  Plus, he was the only person I could relate to as a child, since he had no personallit to speak of just like me and spoke in monotone, just like me.  So I liked him a lot and still do.  I think I actually used to pray to him as a child.  I know I talked to him a lot.  I don't give a hoot that he is a robot...he had a very different personallity than any of the other Transformers...everyone else had far more personallity and vocal change than he did.

awwwww that sounds cute Smile I feel the same way about other things too so don't feel silly. I want to go see it now.

Hmm. I think I'll have to go with Dib from Invader Zim. I mean, he's got the obsession thing down pretty well, and doesn't seem interested at all that people don't listen to his obsessive monologues of paranormal things, except when it gets him ridiculed or beat up, which is quite often, and also consistent with the autistic experience. He is also very intelligent in math and science (he was able to repair an alien spaceship that landed in his yard - granted, Gaz was the one to get it fully functional at the end, but it is no less remarkable).

Now that I think of it, Professor Membrane and Gaz seem kinda autistic, too. His sister Gaz is obsessed with video games and pizza, and doesn't seem to enjoy communicating. Unfortunately, she frustrates easily with Dib's obsessiveness and directs her anger toward him by beating him up. His father, on the other hand, being a world-famous scientist who is completely absorbed in his work, seems rather distant emotionally. It's one darn obsessive family situation there.

I suppose it could be argued that Dib is just an outcast and not autistic, but something about that boy just strikes me as 'yup, that's just like me.'

I think I read or saw somewhere that Dib has OCD, But yeah...

Actually, I probably WAS obsessive-compulsive when in elementary school...I had to eat my sandwich in exactly twenty bites in a certain pattern, or it would be a very bad day. I was an obsessive counter as well, but nowadays no longer.

Ha! I do that too. But I don't get really upset if it doesn't work out.
