Because people are intolerant of things they don't follow or believe in. Prime example: Christianity and America.

Now do you see why? I don't want things like that happening to me because I'm an Aspie, or because I'm a Bi.
I dont think anyone allows themselves to be bullied, but are targeted by nasty people.
People should try and stand up for themselves but its not always possible in a practical sense. Thats why kids in schools are supposed to have help with bullying.

If everyone stood up for themselves and didn't allow anyone to bully them, this world would be a lot better place.

Besides, liking childrens shows and being the target of religious fanatics do not equate. So let's start by standing up for the little things and work our ways up.

I'm with you, and there's really no rationale for any one to fear criticism by phone wire... It's the Aspie way, surely, to be in dependant on the good opinion of others, so why care if some jerk gets kicks from flaming you. If you don't react they tend to lose interest.

NTs on the other hand are for the most part entirely dependent on their interaction with, and gaining the approval of, others. So, unfortunately, are a large proportion of those diagnosed as Aspie, espercially by the US's DSM method, which is, in itself, grounds for suspicion. What it means BG is that any initiative such as yours will be either actively opposed by suspect Aspies, or derailed by apathy by the most of the real ones. I speak from experience!

I was specifically referring to real life, online is a different kettle of fish etc.

But we can still get a little upset from time to time? Tongue

Online is different in that someone could still be bullied, and in theory you could avoid them, but its not always that simple if someone is intent on causing trouble.
What's this *_* stuff? It seems to mean the same as "_" but maybe I'm missing something? Some people use it in place of (_) and this is the sign of slime balls, if current usage is anything to go by; but again, I may have misread it?
Its a way of emphasising a word.
Ta! But what's wrong with using italics or underlining?

Enjoy your stay????

What happened to british reserve (goddammit!!)

"We hope your visit was argeeable" would have so much more couth, don't you think? Smile
kewl another pokemon fan. WEll i'm 20 and it looks maybe strange. At school i suddenly talked about it with another. SUddenly she began to say that it doesnt matter.... probably because i've got a tendency to say unconsciously 'i'm sorry, but.....'...

My first sentence was that i know 250 of them, she said that she knew the first 150. Well mind starts thinking. That means that she played pokemon indeed a very long time ago, that makes me even more embarrassed. It's that terrible self censure-ship (sp?) that's keeping me from 'normal' social interaction.....

I was talking in the class with a fellow mathematician college student. Even in that context i feel embarressed, although pokemon is really a game made for future mathematician (my opinion) and probably made by autistics for autistics Big Grin Big Grin But anyway, it's no fun to have that self censorship eventhough it's one of my mayor interest.....

linky

Out of curiosity, when you found out they played 'a very long time ago', why did you stop talking?

I stopped talking because i felt even MORE old Big Grin (bad english...) So my selfcensorship 'helmet' was immediatly activated. Maybe they got no interest in pokemon since then, otherwise they'd know the rest of them. A lot of things flashed to my mind just to shut up really.... And i know that all the arguments are invalid

In school it was dreadful to be bullied, and then have a teacher say "well shake hands and forget about it", how on earth was that going to help and stop them doing it?

Thats when you learn to avoid, rather than ask for help, as the so called intervention or help is useless anyway. This was when I was young and I would like to think that it has improved in some schools at least.
"I mean to say; if the lawkeepers don't act, then laws have no use."

True, and trying to get the police to act when you have been the victim of a crime, but have trouble communicating, is not easy.

Yes, I personally like stories of good vs. evil and one of those is Power Rangers. I just really like the villians from the show. Personally, I tend to like the villians more than the heroes, I don't know why.

maybe good guys are always bound to rules and cant do things they want. What i really love are evil hero;s. They kill everyone they see, except, women or kids. After they destroyed everything they clean it up. Reminds me of the korena movie bin-yip. He breaks into people houses to live but cleans it before he leaves. Villians have that wonderful laugh after and before sentences. It's like those very old chinese b-movies. Maybe you, Grevious, actually know why you like them, dont you?
