I eat meat and fish and don't mind leather, but I very much don't like raising animals for fur. I don't have a problem with leather because it comes from animals raised for food so we might as well use the hide anyway. Fur clothing, on the other hand, is generally from animals raised exclusively for their fur, THAT I have a problem with.

I have no aversion on principle to wearing fur from animals that are to die anyway for food, but such aren't common, I would on principle, wear fur that is shorn from living animals like wool, alpaca etc, but I find them very uncomfortable, so I don't actually wear any, or indeed own any.

I have no tolerance or sympathy for any of these shitbags that think crocodile skin, cat skins, dog skins etc are the height of fashion, and if I ever met someone with snakeskin clothing (the skins are often torn off living animals that are then left to die in pain over long periods of time), I think I would have a hard time reining in the desire to skin THEM alive, and make a trenchcoat of their skin.

I couldn't agree more!

I eat meat and fish, but I prefer leather to fur.
The fur debate is interesting actually.  I used to be completely against fur as well, but I was speaking to a friend of mine from Russia and I had to decide to make allowances. You see in Russia the only way to get warm with the extreme and long winters is to wear fur.  However the fur coats they wear last for a long time.  So my exception to the no-fur rule is it's allowed if it is required for really cold temperatures.

I have seen documentaries on the way livestock are killed, and most slaughterhouses are not like the ones you see on PETA's website and actually adhere to their policies designed to reduce the stress/pain experienced by the animal.

I've heard that meat from livestock that are stressed out before slaughter doesn't taste as good as meat from livestock that are kept calm and unstressed. Something to do with hormones like adrenalin and cortisol screwing up the taste, IIRC.

I eat fish, occasionally poultry... am otherwise veggie. I eat yogurts but avoid pure milk. I have a black suede jacket, so that answers that question.
Hi!! xD
My name is Marcin and I'm from Poland. Unfortunately I don't know very well English and I am forced to ask you for help. I have to write an essay and i have 4 alternative subjects.
1. It is wrong to keep animals as pets.
2. Using animals for food and/or clothes is wrong.
3. It is natural for humans to use animals for food and clothing.
4. If cows were the dominant species they would eat us.

I chose topic 2. I have to write introduction, 3 arguments for and against this statment/topic. It would be great when you help me. On the other hand, the essay should be simple without the difficult vocabulary.

Pozdro
