Hello, I think it would be beneficial if we all ahd a specific place to post our thoughts on what would make the island great- what things should be incorporated in its design.  THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR ISLAND BASHING!  Thank you.

I, myself, have so many ideas that it will take me some time to sort them out.  I will post them later.
You know those buttons people wear at Autreat to tell others wether or not they are willing to be aproached?  We could wear them all the time on the island, change the color depending on our moods.  That way, when you're grocery shopping (or whatever) and want to talk to someone for some reason, you know right away if they don't want to be aproached at all.
No bright lighting!  One thing I hate about school is the bright lights, they are unnecesary and they hurt.  My eyes, that is.
Yes!

I read about a school that is like that, it's like unschooling but not homeshooled....  You go to the classes which interest you, for example, I would not go to math at all except when I am in the right mood and would be able to enjoy it.

Buildings should not have sharp edges like corners of walls that hurt when you walk/fall into them by accident (which I do at least once a month).
Depends on how big the roof is. Wink

Maybe there should be a variety of different kinds of housing- houses with big rooms, houses with small rooms (I don't know about you, but I LIKE small spaces), dorm-like houses several people could live in- 'community houses', if you like.

Just a random idea.

from my experience at college between 1998 and 2000, aspies seem to get along fine with one another, but arguements did happen, as they would do if someone didn't agree with something

As you can gather, it was a college for aspies

I'll bet they're almost as rare as hens' teeth.

I've become somewhat disilusioned with the aspergia idea- I would like it better if there were quirky NTs there too.

Never heard of it, and I can't find it on google for that matter, or anywhere else!

Also, Androgyny basically means lack of gender identification.

Overall, I don't think a "Aspergian" Island would be a good idea. As far as I know, people with Asperger's Syndrome are spread out over huge geographical and cultural areas and there aren't that many people who have it!

If you guys really want to make an Asperger Community, its best and cheapest to just move into a suburb or a city and occupy a street or an apartment complex. Much like the way a Chinatown is organized.
