I love France! They don't eat food with high fructose either!
Read this like a Seinfeld stand-up rountine...
How can soda, with all that extra stuff in it, actually cost less than a bottle of water - when soda starts out with water? It makes you think doesn't it?
This isn't even the half of it.... aspartame - the US government approves it's use in 1980 right after the us governement was making a case to indict for fraud the aspartame company nutra-sweet  for fraudulent food trials-- and even after it approves it use the US government will not allow its' (millions put into traiing them) pilots to use it for fear of loss of equipment due to pilot seizures -..... you can't make this stuff up.

read on if you want... it is not a secret
Dear Senator Biden:

The news talks about you asking Donald Rumsfeld to step down which has to do with the Iraq situation.

I would like to call your attention to when Donald Rumsfeld was CEO of Searle, manufacturers of aspartame. For 16 years the FDA refused to approve it, not only because its not safe but because they wanted the company indicted for fraud. Both U.S. Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. They were Sam Skinner and William Conlon. Skinner went on to become Secretary of Transportation squelching the cries of the pilots who were now having seizures on this seizure triggering drug, aspartame, and then Chief of Staff under President Bush's father. Some of these people reach high places. Even Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas is a former Monsanto attorney. (Monsanto bought Searle in l985, and sold it a few years ago). When Ashcroft became Attorney General, Thompson from King and Spalding Attorneys (another former Monsanto attorney) became deputy under Ashcroft. (Attorneys for NutraSweet and Coke).

Years ago... at the end of the 20th century I started to dig out an old cellar whose roof had totally caved in and there was a birch tree growing on top of it. The cellar sat next to some cement pillars that once was the foundation to a house. The cellar was full of junk and pieces of old roofing and dirt but as I advanced down into it I found an old Coca Cola bottle (0.7 litre) that still held a great amount of liquid. I brought it home, unscrewed the cap and poured the liquid through a coffea filter and drank it and Damn!!! It tasted just like Coca Cola (it was stale of course). It must have been sitting down there for 25-30 years. Ah, isn't it wonderful what things you can find?

Are you a survivalost or something Tongue- what would make you drink that!> LOL

I know it is a joke -  but it works for me - IF we ran that articel for about 4 weeks - on mainstream media - the whole culture weould be brainwashed into saying that.... a new witch hunt.

(problem is I have never ever drank soda - or had a cavity) How did my son end up autistic?! (not a serious question - just following Zeds light post)
But I don't even drink decaffeinated tea or eat maraschino cherries .... "The levels of benzene were more than the recommended 5 parts per billion in cherries..." or even Sanka, ..."benzene is rather toxic, the method was popularized with Sanka ... Decaffeinated Tea".  I have alwasy been aware to not drink out of plastic - and grew up without a microwave AND had milk delivered in glass bottles.  What will the scientists do about me?

Well, except for a few people here, who never drinks soda, doesn't drink tap water, doesn't drink from plastic bottles, never eats fast food, never eats processed/refined food, etc, etc.

Anyhow, my point is, it's not the food/water supply--it's genetics.

Yes it is -genetic.

I am taking this thread to be poking fun of the absurdity - I mean I remember - butter is bad - eat margarine - now margarine is bad - sugar is bad have fake sugar - milk is bad - no, milk is good!

The food supply has to be looked at for the good of all people -it has nothing at all to do with the topic of aspergers - I guess this is hwy it is in the general - time out section...

Food does have to do with the topic of Aspergers.

Apart from chemical contaminants and genetically modified foods, soils are becoming depleted.

Many people on the spectrum have unusual eating habits ... some have pica, some will only eat white foods, some will only eat carbs, some will only eat food that has been cooked a certain way, some will not eat food that has touched other food on the plate, some will only eat cold food, some will not eat food that is mushy, some will not eat food that is stringy, some will only eat one or two foods just in case a new food is 'prickly' or 'burns'.
If inadequate nutrition is going in, then what comes out is going to be impacted to a greater or lesser degree.

So true. This was discussed at length in another thread - so I didn't get all technical here - (Just trying to have a light moment, or two! Smile) yes I am careful with my kids food/water nutrition, yes my aspie is particularly LOL particular with what he lets enter his body.. but in general we all need to make it more than what is good or not good for a minority - if the majority realizes they are being hurt - all the changes will trickle down and help the minority... The masses don't move - not really - until something affects them personally.
