CONCERN is growing for a vulnerable teenager who has been missing for nearly a month.

Michael Mayes, 18, was last seen on Thursday May 4 at a care home in Wyboston where he was being assessed for a variety of health problems including Asperger Syndrome.

Police are urging residents in the area to keep a look out. They also think he may be in Malden or staying with friends in Witham, Essex. Michael is white, 1.6m, has black spiky hair and was wearing a white hoody when he went missing. Anyone with information should call Bedfordshire Police on (01234) 481212.
autism is a health problem now?  what the heck?

but i hope he's okay.
Aww thats not good.I hope they find him soon.   Sad
Unusally the family put that the person "needs medication daily" or has "health conditions" because it makes it sound more urgent that they be found.  That makes it sound like they are "missing" or "kidnapped" more than they just ran away.

This person is 18.  He is being assessed for "health problems".   He was living in a "care home".  Is that like a group home.   I wonder if he just got sick of it all and left.  Hopefully, he is safe and left on his own.

If he did not leave on his own, then what happened to him?   There is the chance that someone is taking advantage of him or harming him.  That is the scary part.
