Details can be found on this page, if you can join in, please do.
8th and 9th july many sites will carry the protest signs, please add them to your own site, page or blog, or post them on forums.
They only need to be added for those 2 days to make the statement (but could be kept for longer if wanted of course).

Can we post up that link in other forums?
We hope to get it on many sites, and people can post on forums with the banner too.
So it should reach a wider audience.
I will, but I am not sure how effective it would be since most of the people visiting ours site are already interested in nerodiversity and probably allready agree with this. Preaching to the choir to use a old cliche.
It will be going on my personal site which is mainly not related to autism, it will also be going on my other sites.
This is not enough. This is not close to enough. Most people will think that it's an ad, and skip over it as such. We need an actual protest, with signs and banners and rocks(kidding, for the moment)!
Actual protests are still being thought of, the protest at windsor castle will be taking place in the not too distant future, but a protest specifically against the prenatal test is something that requires more careful planning.
Luai, you have good spelling for your age, and the post is really good! Thanks for making it.
I've been thinking about this whole quandary of genetic testing and abortion. Some will argue that it's all about freedom and the rights of potential parents in choosing what kind of offspring they will have. Should people even have this right? In the past, medical technology or the lack of it prevented this choice from even being made. Some religious groups like the Catholics have it in their dogma that any kind of birth control is a sin and every life is precious and deserves a chance to exist. Where do we draw the line? I've heard of one economist who wrote a
book in which he argued legalized abortion helped bring down the crime rate.
Theosoph, did it bring down the crime rate because back street abortionists were no longer getting arrested?
If so, that's like when they made cannabis legal in one part of london to bring down the crime rate, if you make less things illegal, then its not a crime anymore. QED

The book is called Freakonomics by Levitt and Dubner. In it Levitt bascially says legalized abortions caused less black babies to be born. This in turn brought down the crime rate. At least this is the impression I got after watching an interview of Levitt. It was and still is a controversial and popular book. If you do a search on Freakonomics you will get many hits.
Thanks for answering. It sounds highly dubious and racist though. :?
Don't let them get you down luai, dont tell them where the test is available because it will help people who want to take the test.
I suppose when they are older they could be offered the test though, if they find out now about some of the facts it might make them think twice when they want to have kids.
 Argh, I don't believe it! Somehow everything I said in that post on SheroesCentral was twisted and warped and everyone is arguing now over:
1: Whether killing Autistics is *technically* genocide
2: Whether or not abortion is bad
3: Whether or not the test actually exists (since none of them have been able to find out about it from other sources)
4: Whether or not people would actually abort all autistic children (actually, they all seem to agree that people wouldn't)
STUPID NTS!!!!!!
That would frustrate me indeed, but Amy has given you good advice.
1. If autism is genetic and they are killing autistics, then they are killing people with a certain genetic makeup, and therefore it is an act of genocide.
2. That is certainly a controversial issue.
3. I don't know, I read it here, but there was an article about it somewhere. I would assume it's in the early developmental stages, but if there was an article about it, they have it more developed than I personally thought.
4. No, people probably wouldn't abort all autistic children (unless they are forced to). People do not abort all Down's babies, but definitely most of them. Since each person is different and has different opinions and moral values, there would naturally be some people who don't abort. That doesn't mean that the issue isn't an issue.
