This is an idea I just had:

On some special occasions(Haloween, some famous person's birthday, etc.), Google puts up a special version of their logo on the site(and also links it so that when you click on it it takes you to a search page for whatever the event is).

I think it might be a good idea to see if we could get them to do something like this for Autistic Pride Day(and maybe the prenatal testing protest as well, but that might be a little too politically slanted.)
I think that you'd want to send it using the "general suggestion" online form

dose this sound like it could work?

To whom it may concern:

At many time through out the year, you modify your logo to advertise an event or aniversery.  I would like to ask you to help a group of people advertise someting dear and special to them, that they would like the world to hear.  This group of people have autism, a neurological diference which affects many aspects of theri lives.  At many times, autism is potrayed as a bad thing, even a disease.  Autistics are often perceived as infirior, bothersome, and rude, however rarely is this true. Many times, autistics are forced to be changed of who they are so that society deems them acceptable. Begining in 2005, a group known as Aspies for Freedom aided in establesing a day for autistics to sipmly be proud of themsoeves for who they are.  This day, known as autistic pride day or APD (for more information please visit http://www.aspiesforfreedom.org or http://www.autisticprideday.com) will take place on june eighteenth of every year.  Many autistics cherish this day closely, and would like for news of their event to be spread across the world to all people regardles of weather they are autistic or not.  It would be a great joy for them to know that news of their event is reaching to people.  This a day to be celebrated by all.  Autism is an issue that most people are only exposed to one side of, the side where autism is a disease sweeping around the world.  Would you aid this wonderfull group of people in reaching their message of their beleifes, and Autistic pride day?  Can you help a vast group of people gain more acceptance from people?
Will you help?  Your help will be greatly apreciated, please let me know if your estableshment can help us.

Sinceraly yours,
That looks pretty good to me, although it seems a little long and winding.

The key is in getting lots of people to send them, as Google probably recieves a lot of e-mail, and they  likely use filters that evaluate the number of emails that have a certain phrase(i.e. "broken link"). If they start getting a lot of emails with that word, their system flags them as important and they get looked at sooner.
I created a crude version of a posible google logo in Paint (I'm not rather computer savy)  I do not know how to put it here but I have the Blue G, then sasafrastea's infinity sign, another blue G, A green E, and the Red E.
I have an extra day off this week; I'll see if I can't whip up a vector illustration.
Think this is worth trying again for 2007?

I'm hoping that maybe if we raise it again a little earlier they'll do it this time.
brilliant idea.
Why would earliness be a problem?
wow, this thread gets reopened six months later.. hope this year works better than last year =P
I'd love to see this happen. Come on Google, do it! We all use youtube.
