I am proposing in this thread that people post every week, their happenings at the weekend, to see if we really are as socially inactive as we are portrayed.

What did you get up to this weekend?
I went to an amazing rave called "Innovation 10th Birthday", at SE1 club, near London Bridge station. The place was packed, and it had an electric atmosphere, everyone was so friendly. Not a bit of attitude that you can sometimes get at large Drum n Bass events.
lol.  I happened to drag a bunch of coworkers to an improv comedy show as part of my company's "social club" thing they have.

on the flip side, for me going out is fairly atypical.  the major reason I went was that by organizing the outing, I got free tickets, and it's a show I do enjoy.
Saturday I went to the AGM of the South West Early Music Forum. Complained politely that there was too much in the way of choral events and not enough for instrumentalists. Worse, the last recorder workshop they had was aimed only at pre-formed groups - blatantly discriminatory to people who have recently moved to the area and/or work full-time and don't have so many opportunities to get involved in ensembles. I chatted to the lady who served the tea about my situation; she said, "You should speak to Brenda in the blue cardigan - she's a recorder player." I spoke to Brenda but she said she did not play the recorder and I must have confused her with someone else. I think that serves to emphasise the choral bias of Swemf - one bloody instrumentalist is the same as any other!

Sunday I went to the launderette but found that it was closed until further notice. Less than an hour before vandals had got in and damaged one of the tumble dryers.

Typical or atypical Aspie? You be the judge.
Well, I downloaded FreeBSD 4 to install at a later date on a 2 gig $15 hard drive. And, I finally called Emily Big Grin. Going to call her more over time... every other week is my plan.
sunday i was at home working with my 3d models

saturday i went to a lord of the rings party. i knew a few ppl there and had talked to many on previus arangements, but i stil didn't feel comftrable there and left after a short time.

sunday i went to medeaval combat training, that was fun as alvays. we ran around in the forest and killed each other with swords. dam i hate romans, especaly there shelds, arg!!!

next weekend its gamingconventions   Big Grin
You lot are all so busy, its great  Smile

On saturday I went to the local pound shop, its great for bargains.
On sunday I was online and did the Sunday quiz in the chatroom, which was good fun.
i went to the pound shop with Amy and coded a few security patches.....
I spent most of Sunday recovering from Saturday night. We didn't leave the venue until 5.30 am! But we quickly found a cab to take us back to my friend's house. It cost £38 between 3 of us, though was worth it to have a bit of luxury for the journey home. Certainly better than waiting for a poxy night bus, or until 7.30 am, when the tube starts running again.
I finally got to sleep at 6.55 am, and it flew by, so fast, I don't even remember dreaming.

I don't look forward to next Saturday, lectures all day at my university, 9.30 am - 4.30 pm, with an hours lunch break Sad . That's also excluding my 3 hour lecture on Friday evening, and 3 hour lecture on Monday evening.

You do seem a busy lot, maybe I've hit the right note? Show that we are able to go anywhere, any place that NTs can, and have just as much fun.

Looking forward to hearing your adventures of next weekend.
I sometimes enjoy staying at home coding stuff then going out unless it's going out somewhere special. But if i do go out i'm happy just to walk outside in the fresh air for a while (i sometimes do go for long walks just to help me think about things)

Including me and Uschi??

Go back and read our postings. Do Uschi and I sound as though we had fun last weekend?

[I don't drink more than about 2 times a year, and yet weekends are nearly always a blur.  Maybe I should sleep more?]

Friday night :
Chatting online with Gabriel, my fiancé ("unofficially" AS, like me), and preparing documents for my side of his visa application.

Saturday way-too-early-in-the-morning:
Appointment with immigration lawyer in the Nearest Big City.
None of my horror-filled exectations came true:  Already a half-price lawyer because he works for International House organization, the guy actually gave me almost half-an-hour extra without charge, and agreed to answer my emailed questions later (for everything that my scattered brain forgot during the meeting) again without charge, and cleared up a lot of the confusions we were having.
Having gone into the Nearest Big City with my parents, we then went on to the ceramics store where they were buying tile-making supplies, and I hung out in the car and text-messaged with Gabriel to tell what went on in the lawyer appointment.
Went home and corrected papers and watched silly things on TV while periodically chatting with Gabriel who had several papers to write for his classes, while I was correcting my students' exams.

Sunday: I think my mother and I vaccuumed the house.  Then I got online and Gabriel and I checked on eachother preiodically, in between doing more of the same schoolwork stuff just like Saturday.  Also prepared some more documents according to the changes that the lawyer recommended.

Saturday night was spent at a small party, two friends of mine

:sigh: I never go to parties.

I just think it must be so nice to have friends who value your company and invite you to their gatherings. That's all.
