And apparently one of those mental illnesses will be autism

Centre explores role of genetics in mental illness

A Highland research centre is taking its work to the next level by exploring the role that genetics can play in mental illnesses including schizophrenia and autism.

The Ness Foundation has opened the first genetics lab in Inverness, to increase its gene and biochemistry research as part of its work on mental health issues.

Experts say studies at the new facility could lead to a better quality of life for both sufferers and their families.

what a yucky message to send to autistics everywhere that our way of life is yucky.  i like my way of life...if anything, the others have a mental illiness

and what's their defintion of sufferers?  every autistic or just those that complain about being autistic....

how long will it be until there is a defined verison of a real human being?
In the past many people with autism were misdiagnosed with autism.   The medical records would still exist with the diagnosis of mental illness and not autism.
This is in my home city.
A lot of parents are delighted. (that says it all really).
