Prenatal Chromosomal Microarray Analysis (CMA) is available through the Baylor Cytogenetics Laboratory. Prenatal CMA offers the ability to expand the information learned from the study of an amniotic fluid or chorionic villus sample. It allows evaluation of the fetus for over 65 genetic disorders, most of which would not be detected by standard chromosomal analysis.

■ Chromosome Analysis - 8500 / 8700 - (This is the test that includes autism)
Apparently, the test is supposed to be used for diagnosis of autism in children and adults.    I somehow doubt that it will be limited to this use.

We'll just have to hope the costs of the test puts it beyond the reach of most people.
Alison

Their insurance can pay for it Alison. So it will depend on the terms of their policy.
just a quick note...someone on one of the blogs said that baylor college of medicne is the same thing as baylor university.  well, it's not, but it used to be.  baylor college of medicne in houston is no longer affliated with baylor university in waco.
