Ok, maybe with editors it is different then, I know I have found with people in politics especially they seam to ignore emails as someones rush job lol.
By the way maybe a printer may help.
That's back of the "Cold Mother" theory.
On the contrary, my friends regulary tell me "I have a cool mum", and I can honestly say I'm very happy to have my parents, when I see some examples of "parenting". No, this is very real, very ingrained, and very much a part of of me, not neglect, poor childrearing, or ignorance.

Her point isn't that "autism does not exist" or that "refigerator mothers cause autism" or that "autism = bad behaved kids with an expensive label". She does stress that that is not the case.
Her point is that she feels normies are starting to exploit the label leading to gross over-dx.
I think she may have a point in some cases. but to saay that accounts for the 600% increase is rubbish.
the 600% increase most likely comes from adjusted dx criteria and media exposure for awareness.
Some people just do not realize that some children do not understand dirty looks or do not sit in the circle with the other kids because they need to be asked to do something. They can not understand that yelling at a child "do not ....., do not do ......." doesn't work because they need to communicate what the child should be doing (positive). Also some children just do not have the same length of attention span that others do. Some children do not understand what they are doing wrong and wonder why everyone is yelling at them.
There is a huge prejudice. I remember hearing about some parents who wanted a mentally *** girl charged with theft so taking some other child's eraser and a few belongings. They could not understand she had complusions. She could not understand the concept of theft.
"We do see sociable kids who come from chaotic homes where they get minimal supervision from parents, who are obviously behind in their language development for years leading up to school entry age and beyond. Is this from inherited low intelligence or is it from neglect? "
It might be from neglect. Some kids spend so much time watching television, they are not feed at a family meal table, etc. They have never been taught manners, how to behave in a public place etc. They might be toilet trained totally by age 4 sometimes.
Some people have low parenting skills. People often learn parenting skills from example: they remember what their parents did when they were children or they had younger siblings or other relatives. Some people do not remember their childhood, do not have any resource (adults with children who are well behaved) and would not think to even read a book on parenting, so most likely they will be lousey parents. Alot of these children were not planned, the parents were young and irresponsible when they had them and quite shockingly resent their children as an inconvenience at times.
An autistic child born into such a household most likely would be worse for the neglect as well.
It is just as bad as ignoring a deaf child reasoning that "he can't hear you, why bother talking to him."
I'd agree with most of M's comments.

ADHD isnt a psychiatric condition.
ADHD is in the DSM, published by the American Psychiatric Association, and is considered to be completely correctable by psych drugs. ADHD does not come under the category of developmental disorders in the DSM.
The wikipedia article says ADHD does come under developmental disorders in the DSM: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADHD
According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV-TR, ADHD is a developmental disorder that arises in childhood, in most cases before the age of 7 years, is characterized by developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention and/or hyperactive-impulsive behavior, and results in impairment in one or more major life activities, such as family, peer, educational, occupational, social, or adaptive functioning. ADHD may be diagnosed in adulthood, but in order to make a positive diagnosis, the behavioral characteristics must have already been present prior to age 7.
ADHD is not cured by medication,it only numbs some of the symptoms,
pysch medications having an effect on ADHD doesn't make it anymore a pyschiatric condition, lots of drugs have effects on completely unrelated conditions,eg,I take Tegretol [an anti seizure drug] for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Thank you for that information.
the DLA part is stupid anyway. No-one gets the very highest rate, which i presume is the 80 pounds part unless they have very specific needs... even when Al was considered 'severely' autistic, not expected to communicate/ function past a very basic level he only qualified for the middle rate care
On the other hand I know some parents who lie blatantly on those forms to get higher rates than those their child is actually entitled too. So I guess they could be doing that.
I don't think the higher rate is 80, I'm on the lower rate after ahem..being a little creative with the application form, and thats 60, I imagine you would have to have been born with a couple extra pairs of arms growing outa your arse to actually GET the high rate

£80 per week higher may be right actually, as I get the lower rate care and mobility, no idea how I got the latter to be honest I just wrote the truth and never expected that one, my current rate is £15.50 Care, £15.50 Mobility per week totalling £33 per week, maybe when you put £60 you meant per 4 weeks or did I miss something as you seam to have very different rates to me and I thought the rates in UK were standard ammounts.
However it is also the case as I get DLA that my JSA due to unemployment is higher by about £25 per week as well making it £70 as opposed to 40 something they give as standard to people without a "disibility".
Has anybody seen the show "Driving Mum and Dad Mad" (I think that is what it is called)? One family had 4 sons and they were utter horrors, especially the oldest boy.
A psychologist was called in and basically made it out to be all the parents' fault that the kids acted so badly. I wondered why they kept on having kids but could see that they cared about them, and were also quite overwhelmed.
I wouldn't have been surprised if some of the kids had ADHD.
