I know all my posts lately have been about sponsors of pro-cure groups, but I really think that if they receive a lot of polite, but firm and convincing, letters that it will make a difference.

Here's something that just found out about:

Quote:
Planet Jill is offering a limited edition Cure Autism Now custom necklace and logo keychain in honor of Mother's Day. The sterling silver set is available only during the month of May. Half of the proceeds will benefit Cure Autism Now.

Here is a broken link for their e-mail address: info@ planetjill.com

I have some more bad news about this company, "Planet Jill." They are a jewelry company that offered a necklace for sale with the CAN logo. Now, they will be offering a new product every three months with the CAN logo, with 50% of the cost being donated to CAN!  Sad

Please write a quick e-mail to this company politely asking them to stop this sponsorship! Their e-mail address is in the first post in this topic.

Here's more information from the CAN newsletter:

Planet Jill Continues Support of Cure Autism Now

We are thrilled to announce that Planet Jill is continuing their support of Cure Autism Now. Every three months, Planet Jill will offer a product specifically designed for CAN. The limited edition necklace and keychain set shown here has been extended through the end of July. An impressive 50% of the price of these special items will be donated to CAN. Ten percent of additional items purchased on the Planet Jill Web site will be donated if you specify that you heard about their products from Cure Autism Now.

Please let me know if you receive any response from the company.

With their actual logo..ugh Sad

Good job keeping us posted on this stuff marinebiology.
I think perhaps companies, like Planet Jill. Just want to give their profits to any charity, in order to make them look as they are a giving company, to their customers.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be educated about exactly what they are sending their money to, but it seems that they would've just as well made necklaces to benifit AIDS research, or Cancer research..it just is that right now the media is so focused on curbies that it's the most visible charity organization now.
