I love animals, but Bunny frightens me.  That deranged, glassy-eyed stare...that imperious posture...

Bunny is clearly dangerous.  Open your eyes to the truth of your enslavement! :o

"Dogs have owners, cats have staff"---refrigerator magnet, author unknown

Wake up and throw off the shackles before it is too late!!!
Bunny said meow!
I look upon that long-eyed beast and i feel fear, ph34r i tell you! *hides*

On the other hand, it looks....cute.
BUNNY NOT EVIL!
When I look at those big round copper eyes and cruel little mouth, all I can think is "pretty poison."

You THINK Bunny is saying "meow," but in fact he (she? who can tell?!) is saying, "Abandon all independent thought and bow down before me, human scum!  Worship me or die!  If I had opposable thumbs you'd already be dead!"

Just don't turn your back.
Aww, we had a pair of sweet little dwarf lops last year, I love rabbits. But I'll never buy any more; our little pair of innocents were murdered by some low-life who let himself into our back yard in the early hours of Easter Sunday, cut the padlock off of their hutch with bolt cutters, and we found their little bodies left in our driveway.  One had it's neck broken, the other (my daughter's favourite) appeared to have been pulled to bits.  There were bootprints in the soft dirt all around the hutch, but we never heard a thing.  We telephoned the police and were virtually told "you want us to investigate the death of a pair of rabbits?  You must be crazy!"
They were a Christmas present for Lauren; the kitten I'd gotten her for the previous Christmas was run over by a car, so she told me she didn't want another kitten, but something that could be kept safe in a hutch.
I wish there was some way to find out who did this - I would gut him with an icepick.

If you do find out who done it let me know - people who harm animals for fun make me homocidal. The police should really investigate for property damage and animal cruelty, however in my experience even the RSPCA aren't willing to investigate animal cruelty properly.

So sorry, Alison.

Maybe someone should remind your local law enforcement agents that murderers often get started by abusing & killing animals.  Obviously there is a very sick individual roaming the area, and they are neglecting their responsibility to the public by letting this slide.  Wish I could help you, but I don't even own an icepick. :?

My heart goes out to Lauren as well.

That's horrible! You should have demanded that something be done, that kind of behaviour is often a stepping stone to murder of humans.

Thanks everybody.  It was a horrible episode to have to deal with, and still brings tears to my eyes to think of.  Gareth, I will certainly let you have whatever is left of the murdering animal once I've finished with him.  Not that I think he'll ever be found, unfortunately.  Those rabbits were bred as pets, they were tame-as and had no fear of humans, loved to be patted, lick your fingers etc.  So whoever killed them was a coward as well - I mean, it doesn't take much talent to kill something that will come up to you for a cuddle and goes to sleep on your lap as our pair did.
