I just found out about this through an e-mail:
This month, Autism Speaks is partnering with ProFlowers.com to raise funds in connection with Mother’s Day.
You can send your mother one dozen roses plus 6 free for $29.99 or a special “Mother’s Day bouquet” for $39.99 and $10.00 will support critical autism research.
Between now and May 31st, ProFlowers.com will donate $10.00 to Autism Speaks from each order made through the links on this email. Donations will be used to fund critically-needed autism research, so order now for Mother’s Day or any other special occasion!
Here's their contact form: http://home.pro flowers.com/cfm/ContactUs.cfm
Here's their e-mail: WeCare@Pro Flowers.com
(Both broken links)
Edited to fix link
"Critical autism research" makes it sound like people are dying. Like when someone is 'critically ill'. Its all subliminal tactics. I think that have an ad agency that is working with them.
another question...what qualifies for them donating money to the slimeballs? is it every order or do you have to do something?
man, autism speaks is extremely agressive. at the rate they are going, they are going to make sure we are gone very shortly, since we are a so called burden on socitey that can do nothing, etc.
They do market themselves very aggressively. It makes me wonder what people are thinking when they say that the existence of groups like AFF is 'telling people what to do' when we have a very small voice in the midst of a huge marketing campaign of curebie orgs who consistently manipulate people.
My comment:
I was recently informed about your sponsorship of autism speaks - a group which is currently aggresively spreading hatred of autism amongst the general population and raising money with the intent of developing a prenatal test.
The end aim of this is to eliminate autistics from the planet - it is no better than sponsoring a group who aim to wipe out homosexuality or black skin. For this reason I would like to request that you reconsider this sponsorship. I realise that your sponsorship of autism speaks is intended as a charitable act, however it is not. The autistic community is NOT asking for a cure anymore than the gay community is asking for one, or any other minority group.
If you would like to donate to a good cause my suggestion is to donate to a charity that is helping to solve real medical problems such as cancer, or if you would specifically like to benefit autistics then there are charities aimed at helping autistics gain employment and other beneficial things.
Thankyou for your time.
I got a form response telling me that they were "experiencing an unusually high volume of email" and would respond as quickly as they could.
Let's all make their mail volume even higher!
I got the same form response.
I just emailed them, and their system seemed to be back to normal.
Has anyone gotten any replies yet?
Seems like only form responses
