I just don't know what topic to put this under. My best friend since childhood gave me a book while she was in town on vacation. I read it in one night and didn't know what to think. I called her up and said "You gave that to me as a joke right"? She said no, she thought I would like it. She particularly liked that the wife/mother falls in love with the man that is helping her secure funding for the "special school" her autistic daughter needs. Aaaaaagh! Adultery, bad writing, poor parents tormented by the plight of having an autistic child, salvation in the form of a special boarding school for autistics that you just have to convince the evil government it has to pay for, and of course, as an aside, an autistic child that is portrayed as having as much character as a house plant but can be be relied upon to provide comic relief.

Oh, it's called A Rock and a Hard Place by Anne Sutcliffe.
Sounds like it would be good winter fuel.
 Good idea!
