Hi, today there was an article in The Times, in the Times 2 section, titled Autism and pollution: the vital link. have a look.
Bali
This is pointless without some kind of hyperlink to the actual article.
Sounds like Balimudan read the story in the actual newspaper, so doesn't know where it is online.
(One day they will put this 'real life' online and make it all easier for us)

Hello balimudan, All, ici Ilja,

ThanX for pointing to this article. I even saved it, however I'm against do it yourself chelation. But this article is good enough for me. There's a lot in it anyway. Jolly good!

Ilja.
I couldn't help but notice the related stories down the right. I haven't even read this one, but the headline makes me sick:

Hello crys, ici Ilja:

it's reasonable ok, You can read that, it's about crativity & has almost nothing to do wih autism...

Ilja.
Thanks for pointing out that article.

However it sounded to me that the child was not suffering from autism, but porphyria, which is an entirely separate condition.  Porphyria is a hereditary condition where the body produces excess amounts of porphyrins and cannot break them down normally. It leads to light sensitivity, disturbances of skin pigmentation, episodic abdominal pain, mental confusion, difficulty in concentration, and learning disorders.  In extreme cases the child becomes totally unresponsive, so it can resemble autism to a degree.

Mercury does not cause porphyria, and neither does environmental pollutants.  It needs a special exclusive diet and drugs to lower porphyrin production.  The fact that an exclusive diet did help the little boy quoted in the article leads me to think that he does indeed have porphyria.

I know something about porphyria because my sister is a nurse who specializes in the condition.
