Aspies For Freedom

I am new to the site (Keith). I have a son 13 with AS.  We have gone through a 3 yr periond of fire setting before age 10. Since then I have a hard time trusting him, I feel he easly lies about things. Any help wanted!!!!!  :?

I can understand how difficult you would find trusting him.

Does he not trust you for any reason? Or does he distrust the world?

Of course, were he verbal and on this site, I'd ask him myself. But he has already said a lot through his firesetting.

It is very unusual for an aspie to lie a lot; but I do know that under certain circumstances these things happen. And it is a matter of personality and character more than Aspieness.

Hope you find the light and the truth eventually.

i had a stage like that when i was between 9-16 years old, on/off.  i just messed with the fire sometimes, especaly when my parents weren't home.  i used to take spagettil sticks and just light them on the flame on our gas stove.  it was so fun seeing them light up, but of course, my parents were screaming at me everytime they saw me, so i had to kick the bad habit.  i don't do it anymore...partly due to having an eletric stove now instead of gas (we moved soon after i stopped pyromania, unrelated, house has eletric).

It must have been interesting for you.
