Has apies ever tried to get a girlfriend?

Is it possible?

Will NT girls accept an aspie?

As for my own situation, I am very childish in some situations, especially when sleeping (cuddly toys and fidling with sleeping quilt).

Will an NT ever accept that?

I would, I think it's positively kowaii! (that's Japanese for cute, which if you're familiar with Japanese culture, it's like cute with extra sugar on top)

I sleep with a giant stuffed duck still, I don't see why people think it's so weird. If you have a nightmare, it's something that can anchor you back to reality. Like, in Japan, high school girls still collect stuffed animals.

Quintucket that sounds like the relationship between Mandy and Irwin, on The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Sorry to hear that M, though it's sad they blame you in some way.  He sounds like an aspie to me but everything you did seems normal and cautious.

I agree.  Don't blame yourself.  We females have to be careful, there are men out there who are not trustworthy, even though the majority are fine.

Part of my professional background is in interpersonal skills training and there seems so little help for adult male Aspies to engage in full relationships with women that I"m wondering if there are training courses out there somewhere?

Nor any help for adult female Aspies to engage in relationships with men.

I did see a section in Groovy Druid's article on Wrongplanet that spoke of a hypothetical aspie woman learning body language to attract a man at a club but what he failed to realise is that most women wouldn't go to a club on their own, especially not aspie women.

It was well-intentioned I'm sure, but some of us would rather have hot bamboo slivers inserted under our toe-nails than go to a meat market (aka pub or club) on our own. The noise, the smells, the lights would be too much of an overload to us and we wouldn't like to be so vulnerable in a sea of strangers either.

And how many people believe that females can be sexual predators sometimes?

Didn't it turn out that the Sybil story wasn't really how it was portrayed in her book?
No, but I read recently that much of it was probably that "repressed memories" stuff. That isn't to suggest Sybil wasn't abused but only that there was more to the story than we originally heard about.

There was a show on Pay TV last year about another lady with multiple personalities who, along with her siblings, had been starved and abused as a child in the UK. She is in her 30's and now has a carer but it isn't exactly a very functional relationship or one that's particularly accepting.

Despite years of intensive and expensive treatment, the lady remains angry and disturbed. What I fail to understand is why the authorities kept returning the children to parents who obviously could not and would not give even the very basics of care to them. Yet on the other side, a child can be taken off a mother because she is diagnosed with Aspergers because the child "might be abused".
I thought you said she had very poor health and was on disability support. She's probably got Buckley's chance of finding work. But with your wage, I'm sure you could have supported the two of you. Still, it seems as if the lady you are now seeing is more independent and might suit you better.
Go on, be a devil!
I worry about how much governments in Australia copy ideas that haven't worked too well in the USA and don't think I would want to live in the US but it would be an interesting place to visit.
I still don't know when the pernicious IR laws that our previous government brought in are going to be repealed and I note that there was nothing really in the last budget for pensioners. Still, at least the Aussie social security system gives at least some kind of safety net for the neediest in our society.

Maybe after King George's term is up.  As a man he is too much like a brawler in a bar.

Someone on washingtonpost.com wrote. (angry about Bush won't help Georgia)

Bush will pick on small kids but won't stand up to someone his own size.

Shortly after the Afghanistan war started, and Bush promised aid and food to the civilians, I told my brother, "We'll give you food, but first we'll kick your @$$")

I had a (female) prof. in grad school ask "Saddam Hussein was an abused child, what's George [H.W.] Bush's excuse?"

Ah well, wouldn't you like to be away from all that aggravation?

At least some sense of compassion for the underdog, nice scenery, free hospital system, fairly good weather.
I think it was a joke.
Well, you could always become a Londoner.
