True, but I'm speaking culturally, it was an outgrowth of England, much the same as the United States. The U.S. didn't really have a national character until after the civil war.
Cambodia fell, but was revived after the end of Siamese, and French rule. Only a state of National Character can possess such qualities, a nation needs to go beyond political boundaries.
It  would be very interesting to see how a nation composed of aspies would work. Sure, even now there are smaller groups of us living together, but how would a society of thousands, maybe millions of us work together and overcome obstacles.
Personally thoug, I doubt that it would be workable. Building a nation requires intense cooperation, to an extent that personal opinions and wills often have little to say in the matter, and i doubt that enough aspergers would be interested in working together to such an extent, but maybe im underestimating our abilities.

Look at Britain's former colonies. Which of these have been the most successful? Which of these the least? The most successful have been in south/southeast asia.

Yeah, the USA collapsed in 1802.  Australia?  It sank into the sea and was never heard from after 1920.  Canada just froze over and lost its entire population some time around 1900.  Nope, none of those former colonies ever lasted more than a decade or two past independence.  None of them prospered in the least, of course.

According to your hypothesis, it could never have developed one.

Hi this is the second time I have posted on these forums so I hope am not breaking any unwritten rules (hell its not like i havn't done that before!)

In my opinion it is not possible to create a nation called Aspergia but we can buy some land like an island or a few acres of land for people with AS to chill out on when society gets too much for them.  Ive heard that islands off the coast of Scotland for sale at about £25.000. I believe If we want to achieve this we need at least $100.000.   We can create a  space for people with Aspergers syndrome but it will not be the way some people imagine it.
There shouldn't be any unwritten rules - only written ones.
Now look at Africa. If you look at a map of Africa from 1936, you will realise it is strikingly similar to the map today. For all of its constant warring, Africa still has the borders drawn up by the great powers when they divided up the continent. Even before then, Africa lacked the concept of Nation (Europe lacked it until the end of feudalism). Only in North Africa, did concepts of National identity form, such as in Egypt. Because of this, their was no cohesive unity in any of the African States, especially the subsahara. It was not lack of material virtues that hindered Africa.

The problem that faced most newly independent states on the african continent was that the natives had not been allowed to participate with the colonizers before independence. There really wasn't anyone that had the experience of maintaining a government. It was as if the crew of an airplane just left the plane in mid flight and left it to the passengers... Well, the causes are more complex than that but it's a start.
Oops! the last post refered to a post by Tiger of Malaysia. Sorry about that. Un-oops.

Proximate but no panatela......In 1776, there were about as many German-speaking people as English-speaking in the US.  There are still seven or eight distinctly culturally different areas in this country.

Unfortunately, Aspies would be prohibited from seceding from the union and forming our own country here. Perhaps we could be given Saipan or the eastern Caroline Islands for a homeland.
And we'd want a place that wasn't just a hole with a bad climate.
and there isn't much usable space left in the world so we'd have to settle for a crap climate or deal with a nt population defeating the entire purpose. A better Idea would be to buy land and create an aspie community complete with its own schools and facilities geared towards aspies. That would be the best way to start. It would be a good Idea to do this in an area that has a good climate and natural resources but is not controlled by a superpower.
