:grin:  ahhh man, now I know precisley how you guys feel when people talk about curing autism. I must admit when I first read this site I missed the fact that it was a paradoy and was outraged. I did fairly quickly after that spot the notice explaining that it was a parody but it gave me food for thought.
It made me really think about how you guys must be feeling with people saying left right and centre that autism should be cured.
I wish to apologise whole heartedly on behalf of as many of the idiot researchers out there who seem commited to obliterating something that is special and should be celebrated.
I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away, but sadly nothing in life is ever that simple.
I for one though will support the AFF cause wholeheartedly.
We need to reach acceptance not persecution, people are diverse, no one person is the same (even though genetically identical twins are lol   :wink: ) black, white, gay, straight, autistic or NT it shouldn't matter.
Sometimes I am ashamed of the being a member of the human race when we can persecute people because they happen to be different.

i think that link might be the coolest thing i've run across in my month and a half of *intense* learning about AS since i found out i'm an aspie.  so... freakin'... funny!  i almost can't wait for somebody to be a jerk to me about AS so i can send it to 'em! ]:-)

That site was my very first introduction to the world of AS.  :lol:  Someone posted the link on a gifted/talented forum and after I read the site, I just sat at my computer in shock for probably a good 10 minutes.  
Then I clicked on http://www.as-if.org.uk/female.htm and that clinched it for me.
