I'm really interested in Sweden and Swedish culture. I've been there a lot in the past year, and I'm currently learning the language :grin:
I find Japan really interesting, mostly because they have the Kowaii culture there. It's like a cute culture, based around stuff like Hello Kitty.
Sorry violet_yoshi.
Kawaii = cute (Lit: "Lovable")
Kowaii = scary
I quite like Japanese pop culture too. Japanese is my second language, and I love watching anime.
I also like Greece because of Greek myths. And Wales. (Don't know why.)
"Force wa tomo ni are" May the Force be with you.
As for learning Japanese, I suggest start with the basics. The grammar behind it is actually quite nicely logical. Much more so than English. And find yourself a hiragana chart and basic book. (Japan shops generally sell good hiragana books)
Then a katakana book. Then basic kanji for vocab you already know.
I really like Ireland and Chine, but it's not really a special interest. It's more like an interest that's not that special (I don't really know how to say it right, I don't even think anyone will get what I said

)
And of course I mean China, not Chine (been doing to much French homework I think...)
I think there are some countries that seems to be more populare then others here.I wonder which once it was...?
I used to be obsessed with Egypt, egyptology, in fact anything arabic. I went to Egypt a few years ago. I've also been interested in China and Japan.
Hey Quickduck another archaeologist ! I also took a degree in archaeology and focussed on Western Asia (Middle East). I visited a lot of Arab countries (inc Egypt)....one of the best archaeological sites I've visited is Petra in Jordan. A city carved out of the rose red desert cliffs by the Nabateans and Romans it's incredible!
What is your favourite site?
I was offered a draughtsman place on a Mayan dig in Belize.....but I had to turn it down cos I have the technical drawing skills of a squashed newt.
Canada is my one. I just instinctively like Canadians and am meant to be spending a semester in Vancouver.
Ahh, I love other countries... ^^
The Soviet Union. [aka Russia and possibly it's surrounding countries... ?]
Europe. [Sweden, Lithuania, Germany, France, Italy, England, Finland...]
Japan. [Mmm, anime/manga and visual kei... as well as the games!]
New Zealand. [Quarter-Maori, so yes.]
Canada. [The nicer America? XD]
And I just find America weird...
And for those who want to learn the languages, a good start is looking for some music, whether it be rock, metal, pop or just the traditional stuff, it helps. *nods* I myself have an affinity for German music as well as Japanese...
