This is very disheartening to me. I was flipping through the channels on Saturday and I happened to go past CBS' coverage of the Final Four basketball tournament. The first thing I see when I go past it is a Cure Autism Now advertisement...presumably in honor of Adult Awareness Month. Next, they go back to the pre-game show...and they've apparently brought the ubiquitous basketball kid fron New York to Indianapolis as part of the Adult Awareness Month. So, not only is he a pawn for the media and the government (as evidenced by the visit to the White House) but he's been taken by "the dark side".
What exactly do they want to accomplish? Do they want to portray autistic people doing good things in a NEGATIVE light or something?
And to think...we've got 29 days left of their manipulativeness to deal with.
*shoots two middle fingers at CAN* I hope they can see this because I'm doing this as hard as I can...
Ws he actually doing an ad for CAN, or were they monopolising on his appearance on the tv show by placing their ad there?

can pratices many forms of elitism, looking at autistics as apparently living an inferior life becuase we are simply diffrent from non autistics. now we're going to see can trying to inflict the message that they need to cure us so we can have a good life. i don't need a cure for a good life...i'm fine as is.

Seeing how I only caught the latter end of it and I only caught it whilst muted (a good thing because if I have to hear more NT babbling about autism, I am going to suffer an aneurysm) I don't exactly know what the deal is. I just know there was a Cure Autism Now screen and then Jason McElwain was on it...

Jason McElwain is autistic himself, he was the young man down in the US in high school that scored 20 pts in the last 4 minutes of his high school team's basketball game.
