Don't forget guinea pigs!
But what about the guinea pigs?!  They are so precious, with bunny-like teeth & sweet shrill voices.  You must love them!  LOVE THEM!!!!!
It can't be bunnies & kittens ALL the time.

You must love ALL pets!  You must love them!

Animal diversity NOW!!!!
But it CAN'T be all bunnies & kittens all the time!  The world just isn't like that!  We need all of our precious species.  We NEED guinea pigs.  They make great alarm clocks and are so bunny-like that surely you can learn to love them!  And birds and rats and ALL of the pets.

Animal diversity NOW!!!!
Yes, pandas are vital!  Somebody needs to eat all that bamboo before it grows out of control.  And oranges make delicious refreshing juice with antioxidants to keep us healthy!  Guinea pigs do not necessarily eat oranges, but perhaps birds do, and rats will eat anything!

Animal diversity NOW!!!!!
Hope you will have lots of bamboo on that island...also lots of kitty litter!  And kitten chow, bunny chow, definitely catnip for the kittens, and some hay for the bunnies, possibly timothy hay.

Guinea pigs can eat timothy hay, but alfalfa hay is much more nutritious for them.  Birds probably do not eat hay, but rats will eat anything!

Don't forget orange chow for the oranges.

Animal diversity NOW!!!!

You can feed the guinea pigs to the kittens!  That way you won't have to bother fishing for their food.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!  You CAN'T! You MUSTN'T!!!

I hereby offer to provide a year's worth of kitten chow for the island in order to prevent such horrors.

If you try to take the guinea pigs, I will unleash my wrath in a way that will make your blood run cold.  I will...SING!

You could always give the guinea pigs plasma rays, then the cats can eat birds and squirrels instead.

What are plasma rays?  If they are weapons, I am all in favor of them!

Aww, birdies and squirrels are cuuute - you shouldn't wish that they be eaten up even by cute pussycats.

That's right!  Why not make this island a haven of peace for ALL species?   Just open a charge account at a pet supply outlet & get big bags of chow for everyone!  Besides, you REALLY don't want to deal with the guinea pigs once they have plasma rays!  They're cute...but don't make 'em mad!

But it doesn't HAVE to happen!  Anyway, where else are you going to go with an island's worth of oranges, pandas, bunnies and kittens?  Just be nice to the guinea pigs, birds, squirrels and de-stinged scorpions  and everyone will live together in peace on the island!

Yes, he's NT.  However he's pretty good about AS - he has a number of his close family members who have undx Autism.  One brother at least I'm sure is, he's a brilliant engineer, but he can't converse at all in any way if it doesn't have to do with his work.  He'll go on for hours about concrete and steel stresses, however!  Some NTs I like, but I'm just not keen on mixing with the majority.  The littlies are okay.

I'm afraid I just can't get into dogs at all; I keep thinking of the many dog attacks on little kids we hear so much about.  When do cats ever attack a human being?  At least, fatally?
Alison
I like Terry Pratchett's description of cats in one of his books: "Cats amusingly tolerate humans only until someone can invent a paw-operated can opener."

Dogs are not NT's on four legs, they are better company by FAR.  At least they aren't bothered by my long hair and funny posture.

Dogs that have been mistreated will attack humans, however, some breeds of dog are easier to turn mean than others, and some are naturally very sweet and patient, especially golden retrievers.  Goldens also have the added advantage of being insanely cute and adorable as puppies and beautiful adults.  Easiest dogs to train, too, which is why they're replacing German -shepherds as drug-snifing, therapy, and seeing-eye dogs.

As for forgetting about animal maintenance etc--I have my phone set to give a certain ring and show a message to feed the dog everyday at six o'clock, and it won't stop until I flip it open and tell it physically to shut up.  It works for me, because I always try to have my phone with me.
