That said, I have to mention that the people working so hard to promote a cure aren't trying to cure us. They're trying to cure the kids who at 12 years old can't communicate in any way that anybody else can really understand. They're trying to find an end for LFA. I personally don't believe that a cure for any form of Autism is a good way to spend time and money. I find it disgusting that people would want to chagne other people to be more like them. But when I see people here in these forums constantly bashing organizations like this for trying to cure them, I can't help but mention this. Nobody's trying to cure YOU, nobody's trying to cure HFA or Aspergers, they're trying to cure LFA, the problem is that most of them simply don't know enough about the spectrum that they think that getting rid of the basic A-word will suddenly make everybody's life easier. They think that what they're trying to do will help us by association, but curing us is not their main objective.
Rather than demonizing them for trying to end Autism, it would make more sense to educate these people so they'll understand that there's a lot more to the spectrum than just kids who can't communicate. There's a lot more to it than they seem to think. They're doing what they believe is the right thing to do based on what information they have at the time.
If you're in a crowded movie theater and someone yells FIRE! Are you going yell at everybody that gets up to leave? I'm not talking about the actual organization, or in this case the person who's yelling Fire, I'm talking about all the people that are following his words based on the ammount of information they have. You can't be so quick to judge someone for doing what they believe is right when they themselves are clearly brainwashed by the BS that is being etched into their brains by these Cure-based organizations. Stop the organizations from preaching this and you'll stop the people that follow them. Either that or re-educate the followers so they'll understand both sides of the story. I can almost guarantee that the majority of people talking about how wonderful a cure would be, have simply never heard of Asperger's Syndrome or HFA, they're just doing what they believe is right based on what they were told. You can't blame someone for doing what they strongly believe is the right thing to do just because some **** gave them the wrong impression on the subject.

I think they only bother the full spectrum so they can use the "1 in 150" figure. In another thread, I did the math with what information I could scrape up and came up with 1 in 600 for autistics not including Aspies. (Assuming Aspies are 1 in 200.) "1 in 150" sounds alot more terrifying than "1 in 600" so they bother the full spectrum and get angry when the Aspies keep speaking up, saying "But we do speak... for ourselves."
Trouble is, there are no doubt some idiot parents out there that do not appreciate what their Aspie kids have to offer, and will pull some crap meant for LFA on their kids, and in the process &*%# them up really bad, cutting them off from their potential. (There are still people around who believe in demonic possession.)
Back on topic, what about some copyright protection? Is there some easy way to get copyright protection in all the countries in which this site has users? I'm sure there are lurkers here.
Like this?

Hee hee, that looks like a poo. Seems about right, given the amount of manure these people speak. I had a really good picture in my folder but due to some computer troubles, I might have lost it.
