Edan dagan invented the concept of wearing orange band on the wrist to indentify other aspergians. Autism Speaks now tells people to wear orange to show support for a cure!
They are watching and appropiating the color for their own ends!!!

Sure armbands Nazis wore them to great affect
Nazis wore orange armbands with "Anti-cure" on them?
Alison
This is surely a new concept. Jumping straight to Nazis without even the hint of a heated argument beforehand
I always thought wristbands were for hippies, but I might wear an orange one, just because it's orange. Oh and for aspie awareness of course

You seem to be able to get custom ones made in small quantity on teh Intarwub as well...

supporting a cure is supporting our further oppresion and eventual elimination to our way of life. that's like wearing armbands to support the elimination of black people or something like that.
and notice how autism speaks wants everyone's stories expect ours? i think they do this becuase they know what we have to say is against what they belive. they are trying to control what autism really is so that the public has this distorted view of autism and eventually lead the way to eugenic elimination of autistics, simular to the nazi movement. these guys are very dangerous and want us to belive we are sick people who are strugging to be normal and only hero parents can deal with us (all false).
and their autism awarness month is dehumanizing autistics as sick people and promoting the elimination of autistics by curing them. it makes me sick.
Plus the fact we can actually express our opinions is probably going against what they think we're capable of.

Hee hee, let me at 'em! Hyperlexics on the spectrum, rise up and WRITE!

I think its more effective to identify autistics by black rather than orange.

Personally I prefer turquoise with a spot of pearl
Im an aspie and proud of it. A cure? What's the point? Why must the human race be so obsessed with order? (Ok that's a bit hypocritical coming from me). We have gifts - high IQs amonge other things. Our community includes Newton, Einstein, Gustav Vasa (in my opinion) Bill Gates et al et al etc.
If we 'cure' AS we remove it from the earth. Think back in history to the pre renaiscence era (the dark ages!!) It took specific thinking and logic to determine the first theologically independent sciences - and a specific mind 'type' to do it. I think AS has made more contributions towards the ongoing progress of our civilisation than will ever be known. Remember we can be humble people who do not go around 'bigging ourselves up' so many of our achievements are never realised. We may be different but the way I see it is that we are the superior (if there really has to be a hierarchy). People want to cure us because they find our genii (geniuses?) threatening
I think I may have replied to the wrong forum
Something even more disgusting, that's a fairly nice shade of brown. Something with more of a sludgy greyish green tinge to it perhaps.
Like this?

I'm glad you like it!
