I once heard of an experiment in which some staff paople at a mental hospital were admitted as patients for a few days. You'd be surprised at how many of them attempted suicide or tried to run away, even though they knew that those few days would be over soon.

Those mental patients must have some extraordinary inner resources, to put up with it day after day, year after year!

Who is Dean?
He (and that name itself is an alias) is the person described in this post and this post and this post and this post, just to start with.  (I don't know which name is his real name, I've seen at least five or six different ones.)  I was somewhat hesitant to post these links, but from personal experience and the experience of many others I've known, I think being warned is better than not being warned.  Which may be made evident by the links themselves.
