Any suggestions on what i should use to clean up my registry?

Well "Registry Mechanic" seems pretty thorough, and its free (see the free downloads thread for a link)  but I'm not sure it'll do what you want. Worth a try?

But anyway, here's why i'm asking. I'm having trouble with spyware and i can't get rid of it... I have this "game toolbar" and my favourites are all "spiced".

I've run both adaware and spysweeper, but it's still there. I thought cleaning the registry might do the trick, but in fact i really don't know if that has anything to do with it in the first place.

I've had the same thing, do you use virus protection?

Yes, i do, just the standard mcafee. I think i just have spyware, but nor adaware, not spysweeper is able to detect it.
I've installed mozilla now, so i can surf without any nasty popups etc, but i still get a lot of firewall alerts.

and I've had very good results with AGV (also free) combined with spybot (which most people recommend) adaware, and spyware doctor; and yes, I recommend mozilla too.

What about your firewall alfonzo? I use ZoneAlarm and BlackIceDefender and have no problems at all now, but you could also try Agnitum Outpost (google it) which worked well with Win98, and should be as good for later versions.
