Hey, TheASman, that's awesome!!! Boy, does that show them for what they are or what? I hope this site isn't full of fakes like others. I think they are trying to get sympathy, disabilty and welfare to collect the money we suffered for.
well this is the first time ive ever registered myself 'into' an autism related site even though i discovered that i have what i believe to be A.S. just over a year ago - (and have been frequenting an autism-based chat-room or two {when i can} full of people who help to change my view of myself for the better - cheerz & {un}hugs to amy & gang) - well now i guess my curiosity (the question i am about to ask) has overtaken my fear of 'diving into the unknown' which i will have to dive into sooner or later anyway if i am ever going to get to know my real self better and eventually have a semblance of a truly fulfilling 'life' - so - the 'ramble' over - here is the question i 'came here' to ask:
i am wondering: who and 'what' exactly were the people who were 'on' the march? were they themselves on the autistic spectrum? were they family friends or aquantances thereof? and exactly what and to whom were they protesting? or is it just a march they do every year and maybe not all of them REALLY know what they are marching for? i guess from the posts that they think its something to do with 'curing' (or 'eradicating') autism but what are they really feeling about the whole thing & the people thus 'affected'?
sorry if i sound a bit deep & vague & confused - - - it is probably because i am!!! - - - its been a roller coaster of a year (and a life) and i feel as overwhelmed by new enlightenments surprises information labels and semantics as ever - if not more so - but i guess you lot know what that is like eh?

p.s.

i just clicked on the link for:

Jim Sinclair's excellent essay Don't Mourn for Us?
(from Bonnie Ventura's Post: Sun Feb 27, 2005 6:08 pm) in this thread (action against pro-cure groups)

and i nearly fell backwards off my chair when a huge dark blue (or maybe purple - im slightly colorblind!) backgrounded text window appeared on the screen - i just managed to hit ctrl-A ctrl-C "open notepad" ctrl-V and then close the 'offending' window

is that just a colour / visual hypersensitivity issue related to being on the autistic spectrum? or would most NTs have cringed away at that sight too?

maybe this should be on a new thread but i dont know how to start one

sorry

I only wish I had found out about this site a few months ago. I live not twenty minutes from Jones Beach. I'll be there to protest if they come back again.
