heck, I just found out what an avatar is, so this is my first attempt at linking an avatar into my profile...
I like it. Very nice.
Is it someone with binoculars looking through a hole in a red wall?
The AFF symbol on a watch being worn by a snake over it's face? That's what it looks like to me....
Ah I can see the infinity symbol now, lovely!
Maybe I should leave it a secret a little longer, these suggestions about what it is are better than the reality I think!
You're only seeing a portion of the entire image, so to be fair here's the whole picture, tell me what you think (hoping I did this right & you're actually seeing an image below)

I love it, what is it? Can I take a sample from it to use myself?
Amy,
Please use it as you see fit, I'm glad you like it. It's an airbrush painting I did recently on the tailgate of a small pickup truck that belongs to me. The spectrum infinity symbol is floating in space, and visible through a hole in the center of the flames. Of course, it's also my own way of displaying Aspie/Autistic pride as a parent and person on the spectrum.
There's an article about the psychological effects of the avatar you choose in this week's New Scientist.
It's called For a New Personality, click here, by Celeste Biever, New Scientist, 25th February 2006, p. 30
Amy, the items in the shop look great

Let me know if you want the bigger file size (higher res) on the ribbon, ok?
Dadman, I like your av and tailgate symbol--as my son would say "It's smo-kin'" He does a mean Jim Carey imitation
I think I read somewhere that the infinity sign was original to AFF, I think it was Amy's idea? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I am SO in love with the art work examples that are accumulating here on AFF. This is really exciting to me, as I've spent a long time trying to dig up more autistic art, and not really found as much out there as you would expect. Dadman, I'm so glad you shared this with us!
I did come up with the idea of the infinity sign as a symbol, and Gareth, wolfy and shadow agreed with me when we were first discussing name and logo.
