At least they are willing to respond to some degree of pressure. However, my pessimism inclines me to think that this is more akin to continuing to do child abuse but instead of calling it child abuse now calls it "tough love".

Which might even prove more challenging.

It is easier to show the harms of a place which uses language more directly reflecting of its goals; when such a place skirts around the goals and uses euphemisms to make their place sound as innocent as a friendly daycare center, then it is easier for them to discredit claims of abuse and torture. Sadly, but truly.

i see what you mean and i agree with you i don't fully trust them but we'll find out whether they want to wipe out autism or just help it in time

so how exactly do you say to someone you're autistic without using the words "i am autistic" or "i am an aspie"?

nm.....

about this behaviourist crap:
i agree that this is a massive violation of human rights and perhaps the time has come to really fight these <censored>. who else is getting sick of reading about torture being described as medical treatment?

AFF was meant to take things offline, i think it's time we do that.

I'm right with you. When parents say, "My kid has (emphasis on has) autism" it makes it sound like a disease. I always say "I am Autistic." As it should be said that way.

I'm also right with you on the torturous medical "treatment". I'm sick of hearing and reading about this happening. It is 2007, it should not be happening at all. AFF and its members can do something about this whether it be writing letters or whatnot. AFF has done things before and it will continue to do so.
