the winter olympics, many of you may or may not know start tomorrow at 8 pm turin time (1 pm et in the us), and in the United States, NBC owned newtorks carries excuslive coverage of the games. NBC also runs autism speaks, and this will probaly be a big chance for them to push their "charity" with a increased viewing audience over the next two weeks. i started a petiton online for boycotting watching the olympic games on NBC becuase of their message against autistics and watch the games via other sources. if you don't live in the us, you can sign, but if too many forginers sign, it may lose legitmacy.

i'm not even sure is this is legal, but is there a way that americans that refuse to watch nbc's coverage due to their stance on autistic people can watch the olympics from other countries feeds? i just know nbc is littering their coverage with austim speaks "public serivice annoucments", and i refuse to even say that they bring good messages.

i noticed that. why do they litter a message of acceptance with messages of oppression against autistic people? yes, i belive that cures are a form of oppression, forcing us to become someone that we arent supposed to be.
mabye we can tell them to put anti cure ads on the page or ads for something else, becuase this is just sickening. it's like back in the 50's, would the kkk come in a black civil rights group to continue oppresion...probaly happened, doesn't make it right.
Braves, they do not pick the ads, the ads appear derived on keywords in the petition. Its automated, so if someone had a sports petition it would have sports ads. Unfortunately curebie select certain keywords for their ads to sell their products.
In the future we hope to be able to host petitions on this site for people, as we do not put ads on.
First we need to design the petition software though.
