You have to read this stuff to believe it.

"Of course you have heard of DAN (Defeat Autism Now) and CAN (Cure Autism Now). Without being too hokey I would like to offer this page as a similar focus for parents and professionals touched by autism. Autism has intrigued me for years. It has also scared me for years. The thought of a normal child suddenly slipping away from you into a world of aloneness and unimaginable fears scared me. As I try to do with all my fears, I brought my fear of autism to God. He has blessed me with seven wonderfully normal children and two wonderfully normal grandchildren."

"This journey in the world of autism has led me to believe that the cure for autism lies in the hands of our Almighty God! He has helped me to see that the increase in autism in these latter days may well lead to a cure. What I ask of each of you who love the Lord is to pray each day for a cure for autism. Pray that doctors, researchers, and professionals will have God's wisdom in completing their research and will clearly see the connections between symptoms, treatments, and findings which will help them to discover God's cure for autism. Pray this prayer (or one of your own) daily:

"Dear Father, forgive me and my nation for our sins. We have failed to look to You for help with this disorder called autism. Forgive us. I pray that You will lead us to find a cure for autism. Lord, You made us, You know each cell of our body, You know where autism originates, You know what goes wrong in people with autism, You know what will cure this disorder. Lord I pray for a miraculous cure for all children with autism. Please give families strength to deal with autism. Give them wisdom and help them find people who will truly help them and not take advantage of them. Lord, I pray also that You would lead researchers to find a cure for autism. Help the researchers to be humble, to seek You, to understand the connections between the physical, biological, chemical, and immunological findings in autism research. Open their eyes to find new connections and help parents to share their own discoveries and findings. Let there be a new cooperation among the researchers that will lead to a true cure for all autism. I give You the glory for this cure. Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Thank You, Lord, for having mercy on the thousands of children with autism. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior. Amen." ~GJH~"

Be very afraid......
Whoa! This PAN guy gives Christianity a bad name! And I thought TACA was mushy enough! Sometimes i think they want us to be cured so much they'll do ANYTHING!

I hope someday God decides to finally cure ignorance. At least I hope ignorance can be cured.

Organizations lie PAN are the reason why so many people today are atheist.

Two words: Religious bullsh*t.

I wouldn't be surprised if he said that those who are diagnosed with Autism are posessed by demons or the devil, and aren't something that an excersism can't cure...

I now officially hate all conservatives.
Damn! As a Christian I am horrified and offended by the idiots behind this 'cure autism' crap. But remember that secular society has even WORSE things to say about us...
not sure whether to laugh or cry - remember the kid who was killed during an exorcism not so long back?

delusional or what?

dunc
not to afend anybody, but that is cristianity at its worst.
insded of dealing with somthing in realety they just sit down and pray.

that will shurly make the world a better place.
Only Satan would cure autism! That's something I know!

Well, unfortunately even my own husband prays for me to be cured of AS. I have told him that God made me different on purpose, and that He has a plan for me. Maybe not the plan Ken has in mind, but in his ignorance (and arrogance) he only sees that he doesn't like me being who I am (and has been trying to make me more like him for 25 years), and so he tries to get God to do his bidding. I wonder why he even married me! Maybe he married me for who he was going to change me into, I don't know. Of course, it hasn't worked and only resulted in depression on my part.

Some of my kids think like Ken, and I am fighting an uphill battle getting my pastor to understand that rather than me needing a 'cure', I need them to understand who I am, and respect and honour my limits and work with me instead of against me!

Still, I am a Christian. Too bad I am married to a fanatic, who has even less empathy than me (really, he is totally incapable of putting himself in somebody else's place and looking at things from their perspective). It makes life rather difficult for me (and our youngest daughter, who is still living with us).

I think NTs are easier to influense by relegion because they have often more symbols in their instinct than Autistics, they also want stand together on things even if it may is idiotic. Now someone have used this against us Sad .

Sorry to talk bad about NTs, but they have actually said much of the same things about us.

I thought should edit and I shorted down something i said
On April 12th, 1961, Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human being to travel into space aboard  Vostok 1. While orbiting round the Earth,  he said, "I don't see any god up here."
I'm guessing he didn't see Santa Claus either
may he saw cheese
But otherwise isnt relegion a bad thing for the ethics, as long as the ethic is nearby correct
Religion can be a haven and a comfort for simple-minded people who are terrified of the many, many things in this world that they do not understand. Really it is their own ignorance and lack of knowledge that terrifies them. If I could think of a cure for this sad condition, I would try to sell it with an evangelistic zeal.

"religious BS!" Yep!

I noticed the praying folk missing the verse where it was somewhere along the line like... "who made the deaf, seeing or the blind? Did not I?" So duh, that says right there God made aspies, and blind people, and so on. Then we had unedgucated shmuckies in 2004 praying for cures, when they know that it isn't their place to decide what a person should be made as. Big surprise... not. You get them in every belief system. 'sigh'
