This news story from India is quite strange in that it talks about the "alarming rise in autism" etc, that is so often in the US news, but look at the figures that its had to support this from the US-

" Autism, a brain disorder with impaired social interaction and speech delay and repetitive stereotype behaviours, is fast becoming an alarming disease.

Research bodies in US have reported an alarming increase in the incidence of autism at two or three per 1000 live births in the US. In India too, the incidence rates reported are increasing and are on par with the rest of the world. "

Two or three per 1000 is the average amount that there was before. Are research bodies in the US hyping what is the norm?

It's traditional in Indian culture for any disease or disability to be hidden away, so there's a good chance that any perceived difference arises from more reporting, not actual increase.
They call it a spreading disease? I call it evolution!  :x
