Dr. Joseph Buxbaum, who directs the Autism Genome Project at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and predicted last year in an interview posted on MSNBC.com that a prenatal test for autism could be developed before the year 2015, just responded to a mom's critical discussion of the prenatal testing issue on her blog.

I am admittedly pretty naive but it is shocking to me that a doctor would even persue this type of research. I mean, I knew there was research being done. I guess it just hadn't occoured to me why.

I am shocked she got a letter from him! He has a guilty conscience, perhaps?

He probably didn't think about the political ramifications of his interview last year, and now he's trying to do some damage control.
