I guess I should read that paper more often.  The school district that we belong to is right next door (actually just north of Hiram.).  That would explain why some parents in SAD #55 try to send their kids to SAD#72 by any means possible.  (SAD=School Administrative District)

Except for an arrogant bitchy elementary school principal and an INCOMPETENT, arrogant jerk of an elementary school special ed. director; we've had it a lot easier than those parents did.  We had to fight to get the RIGHT services for our daughter, but, didn't have to go to court.

The incompetent, arrogant jerk wound up "resigning" under suspicious circumstances in mid-school year after we refused to have anything to do with him.  We were quickly assigned a far more competent woman who helped to re-establish our trust in the system.  We also spoke to the district special ed. director who helped us get the "right" services for Amber.  The bitch principal and the "JERK" tried to bully us into not asking questions and even tried to get us to give Amber medications that were not indicated for someone of her age and diagnosis. (an anti-psychotic)

But, when we refused to roll over and we spoke to other parents who were fed up with them.  Well, we got what Amber needed!  Middle school has been much better and so far we have no complaints.

I usually do not read that paper as it rarely covers the county that we live in.  It's just funny that someone in the UK reads something that happens literally in my backyard.  (Hiram/Cornish is about 18-20 miles from us.)

And as I said at the beginning of this post, many parents of that district try to send their kids to our school district.  Now I know why!

Peace
