Hi everyone,
I am an adult with ASD and mommy to a beautiful 8yo individual. I've been to many forums but living with ASD myself and being a mommy to a child in the spectrum seems to put us in a pretty unique place in the world that not many people can relate to. My daughter is mainstreamed in the second grade. She has made great gains verbally over the past two years. She recieves ST and OT through her school but we decided against any behavior intervention (she has a few stims that aren't really behaviors). We also decided against any in-home therapy because her home is her sactuary.
She was almost completely non-verbal until age 6 but she is also hyperlexic, she began to read and write around age 3. She is very computer literate and has just begun learning comp. graphics. She is truly amazing! Anyway, hello.
