Richard Rieser, the guru of the disability rights movement and director of the charity Disability Equality in Education is aghast at the government's change in tone. "Up until 2001 the government was clear that all children with disabilities should be included. That movement towards inclusion has stopped."

Rieser blames the lobbying of teaching unions and charities such as the National Autistic Society, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, and the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

Those national institutions have the best interests of children at heart, Rieser sounds like he has another agenda.
I'm not sure if your comment was in general or was to me Stella.
If it was to me, I was pointing out in my post that they are trying to help and that Rieser is, for some reason, trying to dismiss the efforts of them and the other important institutions against the what is best for children.
oh I entirely agree with you, Amy.

I wrote what I did to try and put these attacks on the NAS in some kind of perspective for people who perhaps didn't know the kind of political reasoning underpinning attacks of this kind.
