I reckon it sounds pretty cool Gareth. Got me to go straight to my guitar to jam along! Hope you do some more soon so I don't have to keep pressing play. It's weird the way a beginning to a piece can lead almost anywhere - so many possibilities all the time. Anyway, good luck with it.
I like 'The Valley' too (I think it was called that anyway)- all the weird sounds/effects create a strange atmosphere.
Hello,
I like your music, and you can do whatever you want with it.
Have you ever thought of collaborating? If you purchase fruity loops producer (I'm not selling it, I'm just giving you the information) you can collaborate musically over the net.
When I heard your composition, it reminded me of something. I used to compose electronic music, and one dj told me i was a genius. Of course I didn't persue it enough to make myself known, however I really got in there and did this style of music very early on, the first techno FEMALE musician in my home city, and also I found that there was only one other techno group, but they were more industrial than techno so actually I was the first all in all, and I invented most of the kinds of techniques I hear people using today. WEll, I'd have to say obviously there must be brain waves or a way that people are all connected with their minds, because I can't understand how the things which I invented in my own privacy and didn't necessarily play to the world, ended up invented also by others a long time afterwards.
Anyway, I used to play the piano and hearing what you composed, made me think, I now can tell someone else they are a genuis!
Keep it up!
I think that you could keep it on a horizontal linear melodic composition like you have, and startle people with your originality more than if you started creating a vertical structure (chords and supporting melodies). But if you wanted to do somthing more standard you could probably add a string instrument in there with a melody which picks out the main melody of the structure (something that you sort of did with the detached notes following all the chords).

Nice melody.
A couple of thoughts:
- the barring of notes is off, the bar should cover one beat in 4/4 time, i.e. two 16ths and then an eighth. Don't know what program you are using to notate the music, it could be a glitch of it.
Some more, feel free to disregard:
- Think about changing up your chord voicings. You play Em | Em | G | A all in root position which is OK, but is rather uninteresting and if you are trying for a classical-type sound, the parallel 5ths not used in that style. for example , you might try in the accompaniment:
b b b c
g g g a
e e d e
e e g a
- if you are trying for a classical sound, cadence with a bar of b major (perhaps with a 7th) back to e minor. Next try transposing the phrase to G major or E major.
I think that it sounds really good. I would really like to hear more.
