I just posted the following update to Aspergian Pride's Cure for Ignorance Campaign about the eugenic abortion threat.
January 25, 2006:
I want to thank everyone who has created, expanded, or linked to pro-neurodiversity websites during the past year. Our efforts are making a great difference in the civil rights struggle. When I began collecting links for Aspergian Pride, just over a year ago, the number of websites that had anything positive to say about autistic people was minuscule. Google had only a few hundred occurrences of the word "neurodiversity" in its database. Now Google is showing about 80,000 results for the term, and thousands more are added weekly. Neurodiversity is becoming a mainstream concept, regularly discussed in parents' blogs and by academics and professionals. Most Internet searches for autism-related phrases are now returning several civil rights websites among the top results. Bogus treatments such as chelation are being exposed as dangerous quackery, thanks to the efforts of courageous bloggers such as Autism Diva and Kevin Leitch.
But we need to maintain, and even increase, our efforts. Government-supported research to identify autism genes, which is expected to result in prenatal testing and routine abortion of autistic babies in just a few years, is a huge threat to the survival of our people. Aspergian Pride intends to combat this threat with a new initiative to educate society about the genocidal lies being spread by the supporters of eugenic abortion.
I am asking everyone who has a website or blog to write an anti-eugenics article and to include the keywords autism, prenatal, and test (or testing) in the page title because the search engines give great weight to keywords in page titles. Also, please include this link in your article as evidence of the researchers' intent: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7013251 (a "smoking gun" interview on MSNBC.com, in which a prominent autism research scientist frankly admits that a prenatal test is likely to be developed in less than 10 years).
If you are a member of an autism forum, a family forum, a religious or pro-life forum, or any other site where discussion of this topic would be appropriate, please start a new thread about the issue (in an area of the site that is viewable by the public) to raise awareness. Include the above keywords in the topic title and put the link to the MSNBC.com interview somewhere in your post.
The goal of this campaign is to create enough new articles so that, when a prenatal test is developed and parents start searching for information about it, they will find hundreds of anti-eugenics pages by autistic civil rights activists, instead of the abortionists' vile propaganda. Our websites will get the truth out to the world. If we all work together, we can stop the genocide before it starts.
