Hello. This is my first post here. I have AS. Last Friday I went to a retsurant and I was having my meal when some NT girls came upto my table and gave me their mobile number. It was rather strange and I was wondering if I should ring them up and talk to them, and I was wondering why they did it. I haven't spoken to them yet and I would rather e-mail or text them.

Thats a very odd thing to happen even for NTs.
I would guess they probably did it as a dare. As for phoning them back, its probably not a good idea. You have no way of knowing whether it was their number or someone elses they gave you.
There are other unforseen problems that might arise from it as well.
Couldn't you just text that number and see what reply you get?

Call her. Just be prepared with some dialog and if it gets awkward at any point be honest! Say, 'hey, I really do not like talking on the phone very much but I'd love to e-mail or chat with you'.
The reason why she gave you her phone number (if it's a real one - don't get discouraged if it isn't, ok?) is probably because she thought you were cute, mysterious or maybe (life Wolfy said) a dare. Who knows yet, because there is only one way to find out - make the call and ask HER why.
Not all NT's are 'out to get cha'. Honestly!
I am NT but I am attracted to the Aspie type personality (probably why I have a son with autism :wink: ). I have had to be very bold when I was younger and meeting guys because they were so shy and oblivious that if I waited for them, I'd never have a date :lol: !
That's the kind of girl you guys need but when one comes right up to you with a phone number you are automatically so suspicious that you won't even make a silly phone call. No wonder so many so you guys are single. Put yourself out there a little. It's ok to be rejected - everyone goes through that. Expecting to be rejected is one thing, not acting on something that might bring you happiness because of fear of rejection, is another.
