Amy thought the image i made for the autistic pride day might offend some people, because of the words "Literall rock with us in June". So I want to know what other people think of it and weither its ok to sensor it.
I agree with Amy. Although I'm not among those who are offended by the "literally rock" pun, it is getting to be an old joke and not particularly funny. We need positive public images on Autistic Pride Day, not tired old jokes that remind people of ignorant stereotypes.
Darkcode, you have a good imagination, and I'm sure you can think of something more creative and worthwhile.
I didn't find the image offensive, the image is great. I was concerned about the wording as we had a troll in the recent past that used the signature 'Autistic kids rock...literally' and some people found if offensive.
The artworks will hopefully eventually be featured on th APD site where many people will view them, and that wording could be construed negatively, or as if APD is a joke.
Just to note: if anyone is baffled as to how we could edit the image or 'censor' it, it was not done after posting.
We are hosting the image for darkcode and it was edited before he posted it.

Well Austic Pride Day is about celebrating who we are right? Celebratations generally are about having fun right? Making fun of sterotypes is a way of of showing how silly steotypes can be, while also showing we can take a joke. Whats wrong with that?
Here's another one I came up with just now "become STIMulated in June."
How about this:
We are what we are.
A simple, robust, statement of the AFF position.
How about this:

Except we're not a what, we're a who, so instead should be:
We are who we are.
But that just isn't me. Its far too serious and to me hints of comferming the sterotype of lacking imagation. I'd rather make fun of the sterotype of lacking imagation by being imagative while making it clear that I'm making fun of the lack of imagation sterotype.
Not offended....and I think many won't get it. The STIMulated one might be better. But if there are to be lots of designs, then if it's your art, darkcode, then I think you should put in your phrase--whichever.
I think it would be a serious mistake to choose something gimmicky which could be widely misunderstood and misinterpreted.
But good luck with it all
I think "Rock with us in June" is good - we don't need the literally.
I also like the idea of "We are who we are" as a slogan too.
Of course the slogan is "Celebrate neurodiversity" so... that's neither here nor there.
I would be worried about any hint of plagiarising... dont KindTree use Autism Rocks as their slogan?
"rock with us in june" is great.
i do a lot of autistic rocking myself. it is a relief to know i'm not the only person in the world who does it.
(although some of you don't rock, i do regard rocking as an important aspect of autistic culture).
about "we are who we are" -
i prefer "we are who we is"
maybe just put it this way:
Rock with us...
Literally
Not censored, just I felt like it makes more sense that way. (???)
