AC,

I sent off an email to the show.  I sent a request for an AS show about a month ago or so, so maybe they'll appreciate a 'Thank You' note.  (I know that many many people have asked them to bring AS to the surface.) I must say, even if the show wasn't perfect, the more coverage it gets, the more the public will begin to understand that it's a REAL problem... but it will take time.

Yours,

NT x0x0x

P.S. To All: Write an email to the show with your thoughts.

Dear Dr. Phil Show,

Thank you for introducing Asperger's Syndrome on your show.  It is a difficult topic to cover in such a short amount of time, but you were able to tell one family's story and open some minds to how difficult it is to live with this disorder.

If you have not already considered a show on adults with AS, that might be a good follow-up.  Imagine being married to one of these guys.  Although the rage issue is somewhat atypical for AS, with or without the anger problems, it is a formidable task trying to make life... pleasant.

It is a great resource in discovering how neurotypical people feel when married to these folks.

Thanks so much for reading,

Dear "Dr" Phil,

I can see my reflection in your gigantic, bald forehead. Have you ever considered making a show about the problem presented by middle aged men with gigantic, bald foreheads? I feel the more coverage this gets, the more the public will begin to understand that it's a REAL problem. One that should be cured by chelation as soon as possible.

All the best
/Peter

Dr. Phil irritates me.

I wonder if Dr Phil shines his forehead with Mr Sheen?

No, it's naturally reflective because of all the heavy metals that have built up in his system during the years. WE MUST CHELATE!!! NOW!!!

See? I'm using ALLCAPS! Maybe I can be on a forum for NT parents someday!

CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME!

Anyway, it's too bad that Dr. Phil is apparently such an anti-autistic loser. Good thing I don't watch TV. (My mom does though, I wonder if she saw that episode...? Probably not, as she would have said something to me.)

I too would worry about my kids seeing stuff like that, we are very positive about AS in this house and tell our children that having AS is a bonus, whilst of course making sure our two NT children see it as a bonus although daughter number one did have a major paddy a couple of years ago because she wanted it too.  (She was about six or seven at the time)

An NT kid who wants to have AS? Now that's a new one.
