Hi, this i'm new here, just found this forum tonight.

I've read up on some of the symptoms of AS, and after a little self examination I think I may be borderlined Asperger's (Asp maybe?).

When I examine myself I see that I have many of the symptoms of AS, such as the inability to read social cues, physical clumsiness (I've kind of outgrown this one, but I still have a habit of walking into things.) But I'm not quite sure.

Does anybody here know of any reliable self-identification methods?
Welcome to Aspies For Freedom, Joe.

Stick around and find out more.   You'll find out soon enough whether you fit in with the general pattern of mind and thought and being-in-the-world that gives us our special identity.

best wishes,

Stella
Stella, do you think we should give Explosive Joe the speech about the "triad of impairments"? - just kidding

I can also give him some boerewors and if he likes it, we know he is an Aspie - kiding again

Ur Welcome Joe
Isn't the god Neptune always depicted holding the Triad of Impairments, or has it got more to do with the Chinese Mafia?

Stella
OH?! I thought it was ZEUS!

I did a quick search on Google and found this article:

Zeus, the youngest autistic son of Cronus and Rhea (an Aspie), he was the supreme ruler of Mount
Olympus, which contains the script of the famous 'triad of impairments' and of the Pantheon of autistic gods who resided there.

But thinking of Neptunes sharp triad he's holding.. you might actually be right...
More contemporary representations of Neptune replace his Triad of Impairments with an electric cattle prod.

I see that a new Dead Scroll has been discovered, which claims that the Comandments famously given to Moses on tablets of stone were only three in number.....   something for the new Creationist Museum perhaps...
yes.. and the belt of Orion has three stars...

and the pyramids are also three...

so, maybe pharao Tutankhamen holds the famous secret of the triad. Maybe we should go raid his tomb!

Or send lara croft there to do it for us!

Is Lara an Aspie?
I think she is because:

She's always on her own
She never talks
She fights against the world
She is good with puzzles
She is damn clever
She has the narrow interest of solving riddles
She can distinguish between good and evil
She is loyal to herself and her mission on earth
Hi Explosive Joe, have you seen the online tests for aspergers, we have a thread showing them. You might find them useful.
Is it strange that rant about Zeus actually made some sense to me?

Thanks Amy, I should have noticed that thread earlier.

After taking these tests I seem get high scores.
I'm thinking---maybe we should write a rap song about the triad of impairments....

Don't got no imagination?
Don't got no communication?
Don't got no social interaction?

Ooooh, baby baby, you may be an ASPIE!

Come with us, my child,
We'll take you to places yet unseen,
To dreams yet undreamed,
To new ways of being!

We don't need no imagination.
We don't need no communication.
We don't need no social interaction.
Parents leave your aspie kids alone!

We aren't just another brick in the wall.
We don't need no thought control.
We don't need no bavior modification.
Parents leave your aspie kids alone!

To Nora: Hmmmmm, I've been thinking I might need a new career.

Diagnosis, it ain't formal
I just know I ain't no normal.

That's okay
I'm okay
You're okay
We're okay
Okay?
