Set in the middle of winter in Wawa, Ontario, Snow Cake is an engaging and original story which explores the odd friendship between a high-functioning autistic woman named Linda, and Alan, a quiet, brooding man traumatized after being involved in a fatal car accident. Alan comes into Linda's life following a personal twist of fate.

A quick shout out re: Wawa, Ontario:  I drove from Ontario to BC one summer, and the stretch from Sault Ste Marie to Wawa was 4 hours of some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. http://www.wawa.cc/maps/index.html
It's very agreeable to look at ancient landscapes where perhaps nothing has changed since the last Ice Age.
I took a Greyhound bus from Vancouver to London Ontario summer of 89--twas an amazing trip--I love Canada!
THis sounds as if it would be a really good movie to see so I hope I get the chance to next year to go see it.
