Regardless of whether a people are on the spectrum or not, they cannot proclaim their state of being "better." If all I've ever eaten are apples, how can I know that I prefer them to oranges? Understanding is the key. Understanding on both sides. And I've really been thinking about this neurodiversity thing since I began reading these last few days. Would there be a problem with prenatal testing for MR? How about schizophrenia? Where does the line get drawn? How is the decision made and who decides? It seems to me that nuerodiversity needs to be an all or nothing proposition or it is hypocritical. I'm still working on this.
