The Cell Phone Addict, as manifested by at least 2 of the following:
*owns a cell phone and carries it on his or her person or in her purse at least 2/3s of the day
*talks on that cell phone for at least 1/3 of the day (unrelated to business matters)
*has had car accidents related to his/her cell phone use
*claims of self-harm or suicide if cell phone is lost, taken away, or broken...Come to think of it, the Cell Phone Addict could be a disorder all unto itself. And actually, looking around at society today, I think it is.
At its most advanced stage, Cel Phone Addiction degenerates into Cel Phone Mediation Disorder, in which the sufferer canot perceive reality unless it is filtered through a cellular phone. You will often see these poor souls describing the events of their day on the phone as they occur--this is because, for a person with CPMD, these events have not "occured" until they have been discussed over the phone. Likewise, sights are not truly seen for the CPMD sufferer unless they are watched through the medium of a cel phone's tiny digital screen.
Another step in the evolution of humans to strange hive-mind cyborg-beings? Perhaps...
SID, stupid-idiot-disorder
This disorder has impairments is beliefs, actions, and use of intelligents.
children, adolesents, and adults manifest the disorder in different ways.
(i'll only be giving the DSM-IV criteria for adults)
DSM-IV criteria for adults:
BELIEFS:
at least 2 of the following
1)That their offspring are perfect
2)illogical religious beliefs, (ie: that people with seizures are having a special connection with god.
3) That their kid has something wrong with them when they are clearly fine
4)any other delusional belief that damages self esteem to self or to others
5) thinks golf and baseball and nascar are real sports
ACTIONS:
at least 5 of the following:
1) quick to anger
2)reckless driving
3)mis-use of manners
4)obsession with driving gas-guslers
5) mis use of language: ie southern or ebonics
6)sue an organization for un-just reasons
7)tendency to hurt one's self
8) excessive use of swear words
9) goes to church
10) forces one to follow religion
11) watches nascar
MIS-USE OF INTELLIEGENTS:
at least 2 of the following:
1) acts younger than age
2) poor planing skills
3) use of poor language skills
