I prefer dogs, but respect cats more.
Cats don't need people (and they'll tell you so), which makes them a superior species for someone like me who doesn't like to have to depend on someone else. But dogs are always there, they always want the love and attention when you want to give it to them. They're very comforting animals.
Dogs look upon their world and say, "You feed me, give me a home, pet me and play with me. You must be God."
