By identifying the behaviour you wish to change, and deciding not to behave that way in the future.

how do you start changing your behaviour?
First identify the behavior you wish to change.
Secondly, be sure its one your willing to change.
Thirdly, identify alternative behaviors to replace this behavior.
Next, decide which behaviors your willing to try to do instead.
Finnaly, practise doing the alternative behaviors you have chosen to do.

Things that can help -
if you have someone you can trust to ask for input and support.
there are also books, courses, etc. out there
once you've got a plan, it takes practice, practice, practice - but it's better to have a safe and supportive place to try out a new behaviour or skill while you learn to master it.

How many therapists does it take to change a lightbulb?
answer: It only takes one, but the light bulb has to really want to change.
