He claims it was for gratification, yet he was married at the time, so he had at least some kind of relationship.
Prison may act as a powerful deterrent in the future. Maybe he was an opportunist.
The victims of any crime deserve justice, simply counselling someone on how to avoid repeating the same acts again does not give them justice. The same goes for aspies and NTs alike.

Combine counselling with punishment possibly, but still make the guy do time.
There was no need to mention in the report that he had AS.  Its just an irrelevant piece of information that was inserted into the report - and there will be some who will make an association because of that.

It might seem like overreacting but I'm going to mention that next time I'm at prospects.

There is no question that the guy deserved what he got.  Everyone is different whether they have AS or not - and we have our share of arseholes just like everyone else.  What we dont need is the potential for demonisation every single  time one of them surfaces.

It is very likely that either his own defence counsel introduced his ASD into the evidence by way of mitigation, (with a view to reducing responsibility for his actions) or that the judge had ordered social reports prior to sentencing, which would be quite usual in such a case.

This is the problem we always face when analysing media reports: we know nothing more than we have read in the papers, and must ever be aware that the validity of whatever conclusions we draw will always be limited by the very partial, incomplete and pre-selected nature of our sources.

Very true Stella.

Alison, I think it would be unlikely that he would specifically fake a diagnosis and convince doctors of that to escape prison after he was arrested, he could have picked any condition, and some would be much easier to fake, such as depression, in a lot of cases people blame things such as marital breakdown, stress, remember the Ken Dodd tax fraud case, he blamed the stress of his wifes infertility on years of tax evasion.

Bonnie, look at his first words "In my research I do here of a lot of AS men, and those with other ND impairments too, especially ADHD who have a lot of difficulties with poor 'sexual' impulse control and seem to get into a lot of problems, due to their 'inappropraite sexual behaviour', both on adult and children females and males."

He specifically mentions 'a lot of AS men...'
I said "Are you saying that YOU as an aspie man are part of the 'lot of aspie men' who commit such crimes? I dont think so, but yet you would indirectly accuse other aspie men."

Colrevs said "No, and I have not sexually-assaulted any women myself as been 'implied'!!"

I did not imply it, I asked you a direct question, and gave what I thought the answer would be.

"There is evidence within DANDA and NAS of cases like this and also this has been researched by Professor Digby Tantam and is also currently being researched by Luke Beardon, at Autism Research Unit, at University of Sheffield and Hallam."

What on earth do you mean evidence within DANDA??? It is not a scientific body. If Tantam is researching it, he could find that aspie men are much less likely to commit such crimes, you are jumping to extremely harmful comclusions with no proof.

As to your question about NT studies on criminal behaviour, there are very many around the world, try googling.
Colrevs said "Professor Digby Tantam, Luke Beardon and others are very dangerous reserachers and I have told them this to their faces. They specailist research area's are 'criminal behaviour and Autism', in which includes other neurodiverse impairments too, like TS, ADHD, Dyspraxia which is comorbid in most cases with AS."

These studies may show how little crime aspies commit.

If you and others want to try and 'stop' them doing this, then instead of me doing all these direct-actions alone and isolated all the time, then why dont' you and others at AFF and DANDA get 'Political' and come and protest with me when they have future lectures on this subject around the UK!!!

Let them hear our voices!!!

I have no idea what direct actions you are talking about, but you posted that a lot of aspie men are showing inappropriate behaviour to women and children, so you are no better than them!
Amy... I did 'not' put this orginal story on AFF forum.

I know that, I am talking about your irresponsible comments that a lot of aspie men have inappropriate behaviour with women and children! I made that very clear when I responded to your first post on this thread. I dont know if you are trying to muddy the waters, or if you have extreme memory problems, but yout original comments have not simply disappeared.

This story caused me a lot of anxiety, as I am sure it did for many others. I am nd man with AS, ADHD, TS etc having to live in this world and it *** scares me when stories like this get out and that's why I get on the streets and challenge the likes of Luke Beardon and Digby Tantam who are giving out the negative discorses on AS and other ND's and this is creating a emotive response within society and creating 'stigma' and 'negative-stereotyping'.

YOU posted harmful comments, Tantum hasnt come here and psoted such comments. If you do some research on his work you will see that he researches criminal behaviour, he doesnt just do a particular study on aspie criminal behaviour. You made a post that stigmatized other aspies yourself, again I dont know if you are trying to dodge out of what you said, or you are very confused.

As I said we need to keep our finger's on the pulse here and have rationale dialogues around these types of negatives discourses within the media, in which are then posted on AFF, which can stir up hatred, especially against AS men.

Again, you made such a post with harmful comments.

I am glad Stellas post helped you.

Do you like the abbreviation ND? I find it hard it relate to. Is there a version thats more nickname sounding, like aspie or autie? Neuries? Doesnt sound too good I admit, but it might make it easier to recognise the meaning as many people are puzzled by ND.
Neurys
Neuries
Ndies

:?:
It would depend how it was pronounced, also some people like the terms geek and nerd.
I am a fan of geeks
Iron Man said "Oh, cry me a river. I have difficulty believing you have ever been diagnosed with a cold, leave alone Aspeger's Syndrome. Not to mention that dyslexics have self-help and easy therapies lined up to the earholes."

I have to warn you that it is not fair to question someone else's diagnosis here.

Also you dont know what therapies are available to people in every country in the world, some have extremely poor services for most neurodiverse conditions.
